Provided orientation for two new Housing Advisory Commission (HAC) members. ?? Attended Code Committee regarding proposed HAC recommendations for accessory apartments. ?? With Town Attorney, reviewed proposed HAC changes and Town Board comments. ?? Meetings with Peconic Landing regarding possible development of opportunities to promote affordable senior housing. Youth: ?? Facilitated Youth Bureau Board meeting along with dissemination of minutes. ?? Attended Suffolk County Youth Bureau Board meeting and Suffolk County Youth Bureau Project Directors’ meeting. ?? Facilitated Youth Advisory Council meeting along with dissemination of minutes-10 new members joined the YAC. ?? Coordinating workshop to promote safe driving for teens. ?? Met with sales representative of NY Islanders regarding possible incentives for Town youth and citizens to attend games. ?? Meeting with Mary Jo Weinig and Peconic Land Trust to discuss possible development of community gardens to promote learning opportunities for youth, seniors, businesses, etc. ?? Attended 4EC meeting to present Youth Bureau mission and accomplishments. Workplace Violence Prevention: ?? With Sandi Berliner, coordinating dissemination of DVD for staff who did not attend annual training. Additional coordination for Town’s anti-bias education training. Loss Control Program and Executive Safety Committee: ?? Facilitated committee meeting and dissemination of minutes. Furthered modification of “Town of Southold Emergency Evacuation Policies and Procedures”. Community Development Block Grant: ?? Meeting with Jim McMahon re 2010 coordination of CDBG funding opportunities. Comprehensive Plan: th ?? Meetings with Heather Lanza and Mark Terry in preparation of October 15 public meeting to develop outline for proposed chapters, processes for public inclusion, etc. Other: ?? Meeting with superintendents of schools and Anti Bias Taskforce (ABTF) members to develop survey to measure “perceptions of differences” for students and staff. ?? Facilitated letter of support for ABTF grant submission to Long Island Community Foundation to fund development and dissemination of survey. ?? At request of Carolyn Peabody, met with ABTF with update of activities. ?? Assisted with implementation of Deer Management forum.
