Dear Mr. Shanken:
Supervisor Scott Harris has referred your letter of April 23rd relative
to a charity wine event to me, and I will be issuing the permit.
So that I may have all the necessary information for the permit,
please advise me at your earliest convenience of the following: Exact time
the event will begin and end. A diagram of the premises where the event
will be held, indicating the area of use. I must also know if tents will
be used, and if so, their size and location. A letter from Alexander
Hargrave giving his permission for this charity wine event to be held on
his premises. Lastly, prior to the event I must receive a Certificate of
Liability Insurance for at least one million dollars naming the Town of
Southold as an additional insured.

Very truly yours,

Dear Mr. Harris,
The Wine Spectator would like to sponsor a charity wine
event in the North Fork on August 18, 1990. The event
we are contemplating will be a wine tasting and bar-b-
que on Saturday evening and would include serving of
wines from the North Fork wineries. We would like to
hold it on the grounds of the Hargrave winery. Fur-
ther, proceeds from the event will be donated to
Stonybrook for their research center for Lyme's dis-
ease. We are hopeful that we will be able to sell be-
tween 300-500 tickets to the event.
We understand that Alex Hargrave has spoken to you
regarding this matter and that you have advised him
that the town board needs to approve this event in or-
der that it may be permitted.
Please consider this letter a formal request for
permission to hold the event on August 18 at the
Hargrave winery in Cutchogue.
I look forward to hearing from you.
