Cutchogue, N.Y. ................. ~935 &l~lne 27, 1991 Dear Mr. Harris, The Long Island Wine Council and The Wine Spectator are once again planning The Long Island Barrel Tasting and Barbecue. Last year, this wine and food tasting charity event focused national attention on the outstanding quality of North Fork wines and the dramatic growth of the East End's wine industry. Net proceeds from the Barbecue will again be donated to the Stony Brook Foundation for Lyme disease research, a particular local concern. We hope to repeat our critical and charitable success this summer. Please consider this letter a formal request for permission to hold the Long Island Barrel Tasting and Barbecue on Saturday, August 17th, on the grounds of Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue. Last year's enthusiastic turn out leads us to expect attendance in excess of 800 people. Of course we will respectfully comply with all necessary permits and regulations for this very special event; please advise.
