Dear Ms. Cochran:
We are currently confirming official minimum vertical clearances under the following L1RR
bridges over local roadways to comply with State law. As the owner of such a roadway, we
request your help in providing us with the necessary information.
BIN 7709350, L1RR Main Line over Ackerly Pond Lane
Please provide us with a measurement of the current vertical clearance from lowest obstruction
on the bridge to the roadway surface below, for each direction of traffic. For a one way roadway,
only one measurement will be needed.
The measurement should be taken at the edge of the roadway, usually at the painted line. If there
is a curb or abutment within two feet of the edge of the roadway, take the measurement from that
point~ but not more than 2' beyond the edge of the roadway.
Should the measured clearance be less than 14' 0", the bridge must be posted with signs on your
roadway. For this case, please certify that these signs are installed in accordance with State laws,
which requires a sign indicating a clearance of one foot less than actual for all bridges with less
than 14' 0" of clearance.
