RE: NYS Route 25
Dear Kevin:
The Commission received three Town requests which were discussed dudng our
regular monthly meeting on September 24:
There used to be a sign at the Laurel LLRR trestle (NYS Route 25)
indicating the height or clearance of that railroad bddge. Could the DOT
reinstall this sign?
The approaches to the Odent Causeway in both directions on NYS Route
25 are posted at 40 mph. The actual speed limit on the causeway is set at
55 mph. To discourage speeding on this stretch, could the spccd limit be
reduced to 40 mph thus keeping traffic at a constant rate of speed?
Jamie Richter advised you recently over the phone regarding a third request to
have the walkway on the left side going east on the old bridge on NYS Route 25
cleared of debds and vegetation to allow cyclists to cross the bddge safely. At
your suggestion, we will contact Joe Ludwig directly regarding this problem.
The Commission would greatly appreciate your passing these two requests up
through appropriate channels.
