Parking Problems NYS Route 25 and C~amplin Place, Greenport
/
November 27, 2007
During its September 24 and November 26 meetings, the Commission discussed
at length parking problems and safety issues at the intersection of NYS Route 25
and Champlin Place in Greenport. Cars are currently being parked on both sides
of Champlin Place while awaiting repairs by a commercial establishment. Lack of
adequate sighting distances as well as emergency ingress by fire trucks,
ambulances and police cars are mounting concerns.
The Commission recommends that "no parking" signs be placed on both sides of
Champlin Place for a distance of some 150 feet from the intersection with NYS
Route 25 and that a "public hearing" be scheduled as soon as possible to resolve
this problem.
