Ladies and Gentlemen:
The Commission appreciates your brining your concerns to our attention. Your
September 24, 2007 Petition was reviewed by the Commission at its regular
meeting on November 26.
By this letter, we are requesting that the Town Highway Department install
"Children at Play" signage in either direction on $oundview Avenue at its
intersection with County Road 48. This will be done at the earliest opportunity
and does not require any special permits.
The Commission learned this week that the Suffolk County Department of Public
Works will be working on the section of County Road 48 facing the Town Beach
sometimes early next spring. We will take this opportunity to sit down with county
engineers to discuss what could be done with respect to signage and stripping in
this area and will keep you advised on the decisions reached.
