HomeMy WebLinkAboutCapital Development GrantsSOUTHOLD TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION IIoe~ Hall 530e$ Main Road CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT GRANTS FOR SOUTHOLD BACKGROUND: · Historically, Southotd has received essentially small grants from various somx~ through Human Resources, Community Development, Planning and Transportation Commission requiring little or no cash buy-in --- mostly in-kind contributions Town is now embarking on more complicated, time-sensitive, technical as well as larger grants through the scenic BywaYS Management and the Waterf~nt Revitalization Programs among others · These federal/state programs require a 20% buy-in of total project costs in cash or in- kind · Town Board has to address theqssue of buy-ins TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION: PAST PROJECTS: Seaview Trails of the North Fork - Project Cost: $25,000 (Town Cash $6,000 - In-Kind Contribution $4~000 - Commission/Highway Department) ficcni¢ Byways Corridor Management Plan - Projact Cost; $65,000 (Town In- Kind Contribution $13,000 - Commission/Planning/Public) North Fork Traffic Study- Project Cost: $75,000 (Town Cash $3,000 - In.Kind Contribution $8,000 - Commission/Planning/Public) FORTHCOMING PROJECTS: North Fork Trail - Resource Protection (Under grounding of LIPA cable on Oriem Causeway) - Feasibility Study (phase I): Project Cost: $150,000 (Town Cash and In- Kind Contribution $30,000) Construction (phase ID: Estimated Project Cost: $2 million (Town Cash and In-Kind Comribution $400.000) North Fork Trail - Interpretive Information (Town Signage) Feasibilit~ Study (phase I): Project Cost: $75,000 (Town Cash and In- Kind Comribution $15,000) Construction (phase ID: Eatimatcd Project Cost; $250,000 (Town Cash and In-Kind Contribution $50,000) North Fork Trail - Scenic Easements (Town Purchases) Fe_#~ibili.ty ~gudy (ohs. we.
