HomeMy WebLinkAbout4 yr Term of office for elected officials THE SENATE STATE OF NEW YORK ALBANY February 25, 1964 Hon. Lester M. Albertson, Supervisor Town of Southold Greenport, Long Island Dear Les: Enclosed herewith is a copy of a letter received from Joe Blydenburgh, Clerk of the Board indicating that it is the desire of the members of the Board to press for the passage of Senate Int. 1020, Prt. 1020 as against the utilization of the authority contained in Section 10 of the Municipal Home Rule Law. Pursuant to paragraph (2) of subdivision (b) of Section 2 of Article IX of the Constitution, Home Rule Requests for the enactment of Senate Int. 1020, Prt. 1020 and Assembly Int. 1824, Prt. 1824 must be received from all ten towns - nine will not do the trick. Accordingly, I am enclosing herewith Home Rule Requests - four on the Senate bill and four on the companion Assembly bill with the request that these be promptly executed and returned to me for filing at the desks of both Houses. Please bear in mind that this requires action on the part of all ten towns and it is important, therefore, if this bill is to be acted upon at this session that these forms be returned duly executed at the earliest possible moment.
