By amending Section 4 there°f. by increasing the aggregate bonded indebtect~ess' ~rc~a $750,000 to $955,000. The Ferry 'District is contemplating the purchase of a gew ferry .' ' ..' vessel. It has an OUtstanding debt of approximately $450,000 (purchase of previous vessel) '- and it is anticipated ~hat bond~ in the amount of approximately $400,000 will be recovered for the purchase of the new vessel. A~. you will observe frc~ Section 4 of the. act, a resolution . authorizing bends in exqess of $500,000 is subject to a permissive referendum. .. 2. By amending' Section 6 of'the act to authorize a petty-cash fund in the amount of - $1,500.00 rather than $500.00, as presently provided for. All shipments of all prepaid.f.r, eight and parcel post destined for Fishers Island is transported to the island'by the Fishers-Island ferry. The freight clerk at the freight terminal at New London, Connecticut~ must pay these _ - charges when receiving such freight and the amounts are reimbursed when the consignee takes delivery at the freight office at Fishers Island.
