Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed action is CONSISTENT with the Policy Standards and therefore is CONSISTENT with the LWRP. The applicant proposes to plant the face of the bluff with cape American beach grass. It is recommended that the Board require that the planting plan submitted and approved by the Town of Southold Planning Board be applied. In addition, it is recommended that the survival of planted vegetation is maintained at ninety percent for a period of three years. The rock is a much softer natural appearing structure. NATURAL COAST POI/C/ES Policy 4 Hinimize loss of life, structures, and natural resources from flooding and erosion. The proposed revetment is an effort to control the erosion on this property. This property and the adjacent properties are attempting to stabilize the toe of bluff to prevent further erosion during extremely high tides or storm tides. The structure is approximately 28' landward of the high water mark so it does not impede onto public lands. Policy 5 Protect and improve water quality and supply in the Town of Southold.
