Facilitated meeting of Housing Advisory Commission that included preparation of th June 17 public forum to discuss affordable apartments. ?? Attended Community Land Trust of Southold annual meeting. Youth: ?? Facilitated Youth Bureau Board and Youth Advisory Council meetings. ?? Continued development of Global Youth Service Day stewardship program at th Charnews farm held on April 24 (30+ youth attended). ?? Served as judge for North Fork Alliance public service announcement contest “What You Do Matters” (PSA to discourage substance abuse). ?? Met with Suffolk County Department of Labor to discuss program that funds employment opportunities for financially disadvantaged youth. With Jeff Standish, Karen McLaughlin and Ken Reeves developed 7 jobs that will pay youth through SCDL funding. ?? With Jeff Standish, met with Mattituck Lions Club who agreed to sponsor golf outing in which proceeds will benefit the Youth Bureau. ?? Participated in conference call to New York Office of Children and Family Services regarding status of Youth Bureau funding. They indicated that funding will be available for 2009, however, less than 2008. ?? Met with Weinig Foundation in discussion of developing programs for youth. Hamlet Stakeholder Implementation: ?? With Mark Terry and Heather Lanza, assisted with writing four month status report for stakeholders. Workplace Violence Prevention: ?? Facilitated meeting with New York State Municipal Workers Compensation Alliance (NYSMWCA) who will provide annual training to Town staff in June. ?? No reported incidents or investigations for the month. Loss Control Program and Executive Safety Committee: ?? Facilitated safety inspections for NYSMWCA designee, Susan Boyle. We visited all municipal buildings, report forthcoming. Other: ?? With Supervisor and Anti-Bias Taskforce, attended meeting with school st superintendents regarding the development of Anti-Bias Education Day on May 21. In addition, met with National EAP providers to tailor curriculum for mandatory training for Town staff. ?? Met with Coastal Steward Adopt a Beach Program that will develop sponsorships to st clean beaches and provide funding to Town. Discussed with Town Board April 21. ?? Attended meeting with New York Power Authority regarding stimulus funding opportunities for energy savings initiatives. ?? With Supervisor, attended East End Supervisors and Village Mayors meeting. ?? With John Cushman and Connie Solomon, met to discuss ways to monitor purchasing.
