The meeting began at 7:30 p.m. The committee welcomed Ruth Oliva as its new member. The Minutes of the July 21, 1992 meeting were approved as read. Old Business: Cassidy property - Dick Winters did an appraisal of the property. The fair market value of the property is $500,000. The committee recommends that the Town acquire this parcel as Open Space. Hiram F. Moody - the committee cannot recommend the purchase of this property as it is not accessible to the public. Art wrote to Mr. Moody and has not heard anything from him to date. Art re- cecived a call from Mr. Peter Brinkerhoff and mailed a copy of the Moody file to him. Pugliese property - a public hearing is scheduled for August 25, 1992 on this property. -2- San Andres - the appraisal was $184,000 on this property. Since there is a problem with the bank, the Town cannot purchase this property until the title is clear. On hold until October 1, 1992. Spectacle Ridge - Art just received the appraisal today from M~ke Gorman. $9900 per acre - $172,000 total. The committee will review this appraisal. Sepenoski - the committee discussed the appraisal which reports a value of $412,000 for development rights on this 51.5 acre parcel. Simicich - there is a discrepancy in the appraisal. Art will speak to Mr. Givens and ask him to submit a correction. Gillispie/Alford - Under the Farmland Preservation Committee, we received their application back in 1990. An appraisal was done and forwarded to the County. One of the co-owners died before any action was taken by the County. The successor owners are still interested in selling develop- ment rights. The committee recommends to the Town Board that Andy Stype be contracted to update his appraisal of June 1990. The committee declared a holding period on new applications pending movement of the ones we have already. We will advise present applicants that under the present limits of the program, we will be unable to act in the near future. Art will write to Lacey and Cichanowicz. With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, ~ yce M. Wilkins, Secretary Southold Town I-and Preservation Committee
