EETC Update
Neb reported of the difference between the North Fork/Riverhead and the South Forks
approval of alternatives. North Fork/Riverhead favors alternative #2 with expanded bus
service where the South Fork Towns favor alternative #1 with the heavier reliance on rail.
Councilman Wickham explained that the Town Board felt that they should start off
backing alternative #2 and then in time work toward alternative #1 if warranted. Mr.
Wickham also stated that the Town Board is also concerned about the equity of the
services provided to the residents of the North and South Forks and feels it must be
comparable.
A discussion ensued over the East End Towns necessity to have a united front to these
transportation issues.
