HomeMy WebLinkAboutEat Smart New York ProgramRESOLUTION 2009-662 ADOPTED DOC ID: 5190 THIS IS TO CERTIFY TItAT THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION NO. 2009-662 WAS ADOPTED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD ON JULY 28, 2009: RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby authorizes and directs Supervisor Scott A. Russell to execute the Agreement between the Town of Southold and Cornell Cooperative Extension in connection with the Eat Smart New York Program wherein Cornell will conduct a series of workshops on food and nutrition to the Human Resource Center staff, at no cost to the Town, subject to thc approval of the Town Attorney. (ESNY!) and Southold Town Human Resources Center Extension Educator, Ellen Rackow, will teach a series of food and nutrition lessons to: Southold Town Human Resources Center located at 750 Pacific Street, Mattituck, NY. The series of workshops will begin on September 9, 2009, and end on October 21, 2009. The group will meet on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Southold Town Human Resources Center agrees to: Notify Ellen Rackow prior to a scheduled lesson if unable to hold a session and to reschedule at that time. Publicize and recruit workshop participants, Food Stamp recipients/applicants, not to exceed 20. Provide names and ages of participants to the educator. Provide staff, volunteers, or helpers, who will assist the ESNY! Community Nutrition Educator in collecting data, and conducting sessions. The names of those assigned to assist will be provided to Cornell Cooperative Extension. Set up for the sessions prior to the time the ESNY! Nutrition Educator arrives.
