225 Landing Lane, Greenport
Dear Sir,
I have inspected the structure at 225 Landing Lane in Greenport and to the best of my
knowledge I did not find friable asbestos in the structure. There were no wrappings on the
heating pipes in the basement, or on the boiler. There were no areas/materials in question that
required testing to confirm the presents of friable asbestos.
There was a 270 gallon oil tank in the basement that may contain oil. The tank and
possible oil must be disposed of properly.
There is siding that may contain cement asbestos material. This matedal in itself is not
considered a hazardous material and may be disposed of as construction waste. If not handled
properly during demolition and removal the asbestos contained in the material may be
released into the air.
Testing of the shingles should be done to confirm if asbestos is contained within the
shingles. If testing is not done then, it is recommended that the removal and disposal of the
roof shingles be completed to limit damage to the shingle to eliminate the possible airborne
release of the asbestos contained within the shingles.
