MONTHLY REPORT: FEBRUARYh°ld To,. cle,k
2009 BEACH SEASON: Preparations are underway to ensure adequate
coverage for this summer. Applications were mailed out to last year's beach
attendants, beach managers, lifeguards, playground instructors, and swimming
instructors who performed their jobs satisfactorily enough to warrant an invitation
to work for the town once again this year. Once all applications are received
(deadline is Friday, April 3), it will be determined if any additional personnel are
needed. Interviews will then be scheduled as needed.
SPRING 2009 BROCHURE: is completed and was brought to Minergraphics on
Tuesday, February 17th for typesetting. The brochure will be an insert in the
March 5th edition of the Suffolk Times. Registration will begin on Tuesday,
March 10 for residents and on Tuesday, March 17 for non-residents. We are now
offering not only more recreation programs, but are also expanding our adult
education program offerings as I feel there is a need in the town.
DEPARTMENT HEAD MEETING: took place at town hall on February 5th.
Numerous topics were discussed in an ongoing effort to keep department heads
appraised of the various happenings within the town. Topics covered included:
· Suffolk Works Employment Program
· Employee Assistance Program Update
· Loss Control Safety Committee Update
· Town Youth Bureau HS Internship Program/Town Departments
DO AS YOU PLEASE BUS TRIP: to New York City that was scheduled for
Saturday, February 21 was canceled due to lack of participants.
Respectfully Submitted,
Ken Reeves
