March 3, 1986 Town Board of the Town of Southold Town Hall Southold, New York 11971 Dear Members of the Town Board: NAR03 1996 I am enclosing an application for a temporary trailer permit to be located on the North Fork Country Club property. As members of the Town Board are awar~ the North Fork Country Club suffered extreme damage due to an unfortunate fire which occurred on June 22, 1985. The damage was so extensive that the clubhouse has to be completely rebuilt, and plans are in process to rebuild it on the location shown on the attached site plan. Present plans call for the new clubhouse to be completed and occupied by the Spring of 1987. In order for the golf course to function for the 1986 golf season it was necessary for the Club to provide a trailer type structure to be temporarily located on the premises to function as a pro shop and storage area. It is necessary to locate this temporary building so it will not interfere with the relocation of the first tee, the demolition of the old clubhouse and the construction of the new clubhouse. The proposed location was chosen because it is adjacent to the parking area, provides for control of golfers parking and proper distribution of golf clubs and carts. Being adjacent to the existing golf cart storage building the golf professional and his staff will be able to serve the membership with minimum interference with the demolition and new construction. Restroom facilities will be provided for our members in the recently renovated ladies locker room which was not destroyed by the fire and which will serve as the "19th hole" for this season. I am hopeful that the Town Board will look favorably upon this request to locate the trailer type building on a temporary basis for the 1986 golf season.
