The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, the proposed action is CONSISTENT with the LWRP, provided that the below recommendations are required in the site plan approval. This proposal is to construct a 30' x 50' storage building for agricultural purposes in an Agricultural Zone located at 3450 Main Road, in Laurel. SCTM# 1000-125-3-8, 10. The property is located south of State Route 25, a designated New York Scenic Byway. To further Policy 5, "Protect and improve water quality and supply in the Town of Southold" and protect and improve the water quality and supply in the area, it is recommended that the following best management practice be required: 1. Require the use of gutters, leaders and drywells to retain surface runoff as is appropriate to the building. Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action. The barn has gutters and downspouts on the south comers of the barn~ Since the surrounding landscape is woodland the runoff is infiltrating into the ground and there is no negative impact. If the surrounding area is cleared in the future it would be highly recommended that drywells be installed to accept the roof rtmoff and eliminate any overland flow which could lead to erosion problems.
