Therp imary components of the desired development pattern are: strengthening the hamlets as centers of activity, maintaining a clear sense of separation between hamlet centers and the countryside encouraging water-dependent uses to concentrate in existing locatisf maritime activity, enhancing stable re tial areas and preserving agriculture open space and environmentally sensitive coastal resources WORKING COAST POLICY Policy 10 Protect Southold's water-dependent uses and promote siting of new waterdependent uses in suitable locations.
