DEVELOPED COAST POLICIES Polio/1 Foster a pattern of development in the Town of Southold that enhances community character, preserves open space, makes efficient uso of infrastructure, makes beneficial use of a coastal location, and minimizes adverse effect~ of development. The project IocaUon endures extreme storm surges and the property is eroding make the area unstable and difficult to access the water area. Polio/2 Preserve historic resources of the Town of Southold. Our project does not involve any historic resources of the Town of Southold. Polio/3 Enhance visual quality and protect scenic resources throughout the Town of Southold. The addition of the rock will not decrease the visual quality or scenic resource of the Town of Southold. The appearance of a rock revetment is much more attractive than a vinyl bulkhead. The rock revetment will produce a uniform and clean look to the shoreline which is now covered with fallen vegetation. NATURAL COAST POLICIES Polio/4 Minimize loss of life, structures, and natural resources from flooding and erosion. The rock revetment will not increase further erosion on the shoreline. The rock revetment will be located landward of the high water mark and will only be exposed during storm surges. Polio/5 Protect and improve water quality and supply in the Town of Southold. This proposal will have no effects on the water quality or supply in the Town of Southold. Polio/6 Protect and restore the quality and function of the Town of Sonthold's ecesystem.
