SCTM#59-6-21 The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. The action is located in Great Pond, which does not have tidal flushing. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed action is generally CONSISTENT with the Policy Standards and therefore is CONSISTENT with the LWRP provided that the following Best Management Practices are applied to meet Policies 1, 5 and 6: 1. Require that no CCA- treated lumber is used in the construction of the timber bulkhead. 2. Establish a non-turf buffer at the maximum width practical landward of the new bulkhead. 3. Deploy a silt curtain, to be set in place to contain localized turbidity during construction, pursuant to 275-11 (2). 4. Restore shoreline after construction by trimming the invasive species Phragmites australis and planting native freshwater wetland species; Broad-leafed Cattail (Typha latifolia) or Bayonnet rush (Juncus militaris) Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
