THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION NO. 2009-374 WAS
ADOPTED AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD ON
MAY 5, 2009:
RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby authorizes and directs
Supervisor Scott A. Russell to execute the Memorandum of Understanding between the
Town of Southold and RSVP {Retired Senior Volunteer Program) regarding the Human
Resource Center working with RSVP as a volunteer station providing various services to
homebound senior citizens, at no cost to the Town, subject to the approval of the Town Attorney.

1. VOLUNTEER ASSIGNMENT:

VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION:
_S_~_tt_o.o Rasponsibilfty:. Develop volunteer job descri!otions and submit a copy to RSVP to be used for recruitment
purposes. Notify RSVP of any changes or .additions to volunteer job Clescriptions. Ensure that any of the
assignments developed do not displace paid staff positions.
RSVP Res--onsibilit-: Provicle assistance to the station in assessing their needs and developing ./ob
descriptions. Publicize station's needs for volunteer candidates.
TRAINING AND ORIENTATION:

must .be ~n compliance with TIt~e Vi of Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation act of 1973
and the ArchRectural Barriers Act of 1968.

5; MONITORING AND SUPERVISION:
Station Responsibility: Provide site specific training to placed volunteers and supervisi0~ whlJe on site,
Monitor volunteer activities to ensure that volunteers are not engaging in polftical, mliglous or sectariar activities
while on site. Designate a person to act as a supervisor for RSVP volunteers.
RSVP Responsi. bility/.. RSVp staff to provide on-going support to the station through timety communications.
6. RECOGNITION:
Station Res onsibili -: Provide recognition to volunteers annually. When p0ssible, arovide in-kind support to

7. DATA COLLECTION:

8. EXPENSES:

9. ACCIDENt:
Station ~: Notify agency of any 'accidents involving RSVP volunteers. Make investigations and
prepare reperts as requested by RSVP regarding accidents Invcivin~ volunteers at the station.
