of Code Compliance from architect or engineer responsible for the building.
Submit Planning Board Approval of completed site plan requirements.

Subject: Engineer Statement for Sol,ar Roof Installation
Grathwohl Residence- 160 Gillette Drive, East Marion, New York
I have verified the adequacy and structural integrity of the existing roof rafters for
mounting the solar collector panels and their installation satisfies the structural roof
framing design load requirements of the Residential Code of New York State.
I have reviewed and certify that the manufacturer's guidelines and equipment for the
photovoltaic equipment for the above residence meet the requirements for wind and snow
load and that the roof structure is adequate to carry the new loads imposed by the System.
For the installation of the solar mounting, the rails are securely anchored to the rafters
utilizing lag screws that have been designed for wind speed criteria of 120 mph Exposure
C and snow ground criteria of 20 psf. Wind loads will exceed seismic loads. Other
climate and geo design criteria are not applicable to this solar installation.
The solar collector system and the mounting assemblies comply with the applicable
sections of the Residential Code of New York State- "Solar Systems" and loading
requirements of roof-mounted collectors
This system has been installed properly at the above referenced residence. The
installation is in accordance with the minimum requirements certified by this letter.
I hope that this letter serves and meets with the approval of the Building Department.

INSTRUCTIONS
a. This application MUST be completely filled in by typewriter or in ink and submitted to the Building Inspector with 4
sets of plans, accurate plot plan to scale. Fee according to schedule.
b. Plot plan showing location of lot and of buildings on premises, relationship to adjoining premises or public streets or
areas, and waterways.
c. The work covered by this application may not be commenced before issuance of Building Permit.
d. Upon approval of this application, the Building Inspector will issue a Building Permit to the applicant. Such a permit
shall be kept on the premises available for inspection throughout the work.
e. No building shall be occupied or used in whole or in part for any purpose what so ever until the Building Inspector
issues a Certificate of Occupancy.
f. Every building permit shall expire if the work authorized has not commenced within 12 months after the date of
issuance or has not been completed within 18 months from such date. If no zoning amendments or other regulations affecting the
property have been enacted in the interim, the Building Inspector may authorize, in writing, the extension of the permit for an
addition six months. Thereafter, a new permit shall be required.

Dear Building inspector:
On behalf of Sun Power Systems, Fisher Engineering Services is providing this letter to
summarize the wind load capabilities of the photovoltaie system for the above referenced
residence. The system consists of 22 photovoltalc cells installed on Power Rails.
The wind load utilizing ASCE 7-02 for a Partially Enclosed Building Design for a low-rise
building where the height is less than 60 feet, the uplift is calculated to be 41.5 pounds per
square foot, The total area of the photovoltalc system is 386 square feet. Using a
Solarmouat lag screw Spec 203.2 with fiat washers to mount the Power rails per the
manufacture's instructions provides 532 pounds holding capacity per each bolt requiring
that a minimum of 30 lag screws be utilized for the system and that they not be spaced
further than 5'-3' apax~.
Based on this analysis, the mounting system for this residence is adequate.

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
In conjunction with the LIPA Residential Solar Pioneer Rebate Program, this agreement includes all materials and labor
charges for a Sharp Solar Grid-Intertied Photovoltaic system, to be installed in the home at the above address, with a total
Manufacturer's Peak PV Output Rating of 4992 Watts DC. Contract price includes (24) Sharp Solar photovoltaic modules
model ND208 and (1) SMA inverter model SWR6000, plus all related hardware, disconnect switches, wiring, and all labor
charges for a complete installation.
Manufacturer's Warranty: 25 years PV Modules, 10 years Inverter and, 5 years Disconnect switches and Installation
TIME FOR COMPLETION: The work to be performed by Contractor pursuant to this contract shall be commenced within 180
days fi.om the date of the issuance of a pre-approval letter from the Long Island Power Authority, confirming net-metering
agreement and rebate calculations. The work will be substantially completed within 14 days alter delivery of equipment and
commencement of installation.
PAYMENT: Owner agrees to pay Sun Power Systems a total Cash Price of $38,500.00
Calculation of LlPA Rebate: PV Array Output 19C) multiplied by $3.75/Watt: $18,720.00
(Maximum Rebate: 10 kW or $37,5~.)

(4) $18,720.00 Due upon LIPA final inspection and system approval. Owner agrees to assign
LIPA rebate to either San Power Systems or approved vendor of LIPA Program
You, the buyer, may cancel this transaction at any time prior to midnight of the third business day after the date of this
transaction. See the attached Notice of Cuncellation form for an explanation of this right. Cancellation by the buyer after
the right to rescind has passed shall be deemed a material breach of this agreement and entitles Contractor to damages.
