Box 297, Southold, New York 11971 (631) 765-1811 Southold Town Supervisor Scott Russell Southold Town Hall Main Road Southold NY, 11971 January 22, 2009 Dear Supervisor Russell, After completing the walk through of the new shelter facility on January 14a, 2009 with you and your colleagues the North Fork Animal Welfare League board of directors and staffhave the following concerns: 1. The concrete in the outside cat areas, both floors and walls, have not been sealed. 2. Sprinkle~ heads on fire protection system not capped. 3. Many areas throughout are not caulked and sealed. 4. Ceiling fights in cat rooms need additional anchor wires to prevent buckling if cats lay on them. 5. Noisy fans in exam room ,cat room 04, and office. 6. There are no hose bibs in any of the kennel spaces. 7. Acoustic ceilings throughout are unsealed and shedding. $. Door sweeps or thresholds throughout. 9. Outside kennels have no provision to keep dogs f~om climbing out. Fixtures section of the new Southold Town Animal Shelter plan. This wns provided to ua on January 15m by lVlr. Jamie Richter. At, er reviewing the Cabinetry, Furnishings, & Misc. Fixtures section on the plan the League determined that the items highlighted on the attached copy were not in the new facility.
