Dear Ms. Bunch,
Thanks so much for your prompt reply to my letter and for all your help. As per your
letter (attached), I have enclosed a check for $150.00 for my permit (#31461) renewal, a
completed application for Certificate of Occupancy, a check for $25.00 for the C/O fee,
and a copy of all original documents you forwarded me including the final Building
Inspector - Mr. Gillen's report.
I hope this is all we need to close out the old permit and formally complete the project
paperwork. Please don't hesitate to call me with any questions at my workplace - 212

Gentlemen:
I am writing in response to your letter dated December 30th (attached) and as a follow-up
to my earlier phone calls. The building permit you reference was for a project to extend
the existing deck and the addirion of an overhead pergola planned as part of a larger
home extension that was taken on in 2005. For whatever reason at the time, 2 building
permits were issued - one for the house addition (31617-Z) and one for the deck
extension and overhead pergola (31461). The original home extension was completed,
inspected, and Certificate of Occupancy (Z-31951) issued in October 2006 (attached).
The extension to the existing deck and overhead pergola project were cancelled due to
financial constraints after the home extension was completed. I assumed at the time, the
paperwork was completed when the final inspection took place and the Certificate of
Occupancy (Z-31951) was issued. But based on your letter, I realize now, that the 2na
building permit for the deck extension and overhead pergola (BP~ 31461) was never
closed out properly.
At this time, I have no plans to take on an extension to the existing deck or to add an
overhead pergola, so please close out that old building permit (31461) and advise if there
is any additional action I need to take. I have also enclosed for your review a copy of the
final Certificate of Occupancy that was issued.

existing deck was rebuilt, as your permit states, you must renew the permit for
$150.00 and apply for the Certificate of Occupancy. I've enclosed an application
for the Certificate of Occupancy and the fee for this is $25.00.
