Subsequently, we have learned that the existing structure is 2" x 8" floor joist framing. As per the phone conversation between the contractor and the building department on the morning of July 21,2005, the contractor will be installing a new floor in the area between the two new flitch plate beams (as shown on the enclosed amended floor plans.) This new floor area will be approximately 1 7a" higher (to be verified in field) than the existing floor.
