INSTRUCTIONS
a. This application MUST be completely filled in by typewriter or in ink and submitted to the Building Inspector with 4
sets, of plans, accurate plot plan to scale. Fee according to schedule.
b. Plot plan showing location of lot and of buildings on premises, relationship to adjoining premises or public streets or
areas, and waterways.
c. The work covered by this application may not be commenced before issuance of Building Permit.
d. Upon approval of this application, the Building Inspector will issue a Building Permit to the applicant. Such a permit
shall be kept on the premises available for inspection throughout the work.
e. No building shall be occupied or used in whole or in part for any purpose what so ever until the Building Inspector
issues a Certificate of Occupancy.
f. Every building permit shall expire if the work authorized has not commenced within ! 2 months after the date of
issuance or has not been completed within 18 months from such date. If no zoning amendments or other regulations affecting the
property have been enacted in the interim, the Building Inspector may authorize, in writing, the extension of the permit for an
addition six months. Thereafter, a new permit shall be required.

Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, and other applicable Laws, Ordinances or

Dear Mr. Geitz:
The Board of Town Trustees took the following action during its regular meeting held on
Wed., September 20, 2006 regarding the above matter:
WHEREAS, CHARLES GEITZ applied to the Southold Town Trustees for a permit
under the provisions of Chapter 275 of the Southold Town Code, the Wetland
Ordinance of the Town of Southold, application dated August 31, 2006, and,
WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory
Council and to the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program Coordinator for their findings
and recommendations, and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 268, said application was found to be Exempt
from the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program policy standards, and,
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said
application on September 20, 2006, at which time all interested persons were given an
opportunity to be heard, and,
WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the
premises in question and the surrounding area, and,
WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted
concerning this application, and,

WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standards set forth in Chapter 275 of the
Southold Town Code,
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not affect the
health, safety and general welfare of the people of the town,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT,
RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approve the application of CHARLES GEITZ to
raise the existing dwelling and construct a cellar, raising the house 5; decking to be
removed and replaced after house is raised; and remove the existing shed, with the
condition drywells and gutters are installed to contain the roof run-off and a line of
staked hay bales is installed prior to any activity, and as depicted on the plan prepared
by Joseph Fischetti, Jr. dated January 3, 2006.
Permit to construct and complete project will expire two years from the date the permit
is signed. Fees must be paid, if applicable, and permit issued within six months of the
date of this notification.
Inspections are required at a fee of $50.00 per inspection. (See attached schedule.)

1. Prepare a CLEAN 16-1/4" wid,~e by B-1/4",,high rough, opening for each vent (1 block wide x 1 block high)
with the bottom of the hole no L,ore then 12 aoove finished grade
2~. Measure wall thickness end bend (more then 90-) 4 strops et nearest slot to the measurernent from pointed end.
a. Remove door fr,o~m, frame. (turn upside down rotate bet(om of door outward end slide out of slots)
4. Insert two strop.,~nto two top sets of slots in frame from rear. After pushing teeth through rear set slots,
ONLY PUSH STRAPS ONE CLICK INTO FRONT SLOTS. Strops should hove bent legs pointing up.
5. Caulk may be applied behind front frame flange. Tilt frame so top goes into well ap. orang first with strap legs
qoing behindwoll above opening. Push frame into opening so front flongeis tight to foceof wall.
6. Reach ~hrough frame opening end install two bentstrops through two bottom sets of slots in frame, trapping wall
between front flange and bent strop. Squeeze eli strops tight. Frame should be flush to wall face and secure
7. Check that fromeis squoreand spots ore clear of debris mortar one, caulk.
8. install door into frame by grasping bottom of door (withplosUc pins} and front (with smeller squares) focinq up.
Stide door into frame such that metal pins on each side slide into slots on sides of frame. Let the door slide down
following the path of the slots until they ore et the bottom of the slots in the dimples.
g. Let [hebottorn of the door go sothot the door rototes down into the frame. Checkthot door s etched on both s~des.

PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 FLOOD VENT
A. General: install flood vents in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, spaced evenly around foundation
perimeter, maximum 12 inches above grade to bottom of vent.
B. Install one single height flood vent for every 200 sq. ft. of enclosed space below flood plain
C. Install one double height flood vent for every 400 sq. ft. of enclosed space below flood plain.
D. Adjust flood vents for proper operation.
