The Board has received your letter of November 2, 1995, requesting the
Board's guidance in reference to the above project.
Accessory apartments are a permitted use by Special Exception from the
Board of Appeals in this Hamlet Business zone.
After the Special Exception is determined by the Board of Appeals this
Board will consider a waiver of site plan requirements.

Dear Sir,
I own a building located on the main road in Mattituck~ it's just west of
Taylor Rental and is often referred to as "The Glenwood." Thc property is
tax map # 473889 140-3-39. My zoning is currently Hamlet Business and I run
my plumbing business from the first floor.
In the past the building has been used as a Hotel and a Lodge, but the
permits to run such an establishment have long since lapsed. Currently I am
making repairs to restore the building to it's original condition. It is a 2 1/2
story wood frame structure. It has 1,800 square feet of area on the second
t!oor. This area is already divided in to two separate sections. I would like to
convert these into two high end apartments that would fit the decor of the
building.
I've been in contact with Gar)' Fish in the Building Department about a
permit for such use, anti i was informed that the Planning board is now in
charge of this task. My question is how do i proceed to get the proper permit
so I can go ahead with my plans?
