A. For new building or new use:
I. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and unusual natural or
topographic features.
2. Final Approval from Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage-disposal (S-9 form).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Sworn statement from plumber certifYing that the solder used in system contains less than 2/10 of I % lead.
5. Commercial building, industrial building, multiple residences and similar buildings and installations, a certificate
of Code Compliance from architect or engineer responsible for the building.
6. Submit Planning Board Approval of completed site plan requirements.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 9, 1957) non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing" land uses:
I. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, building and unusual natural or topographic
features.
2. A properly completed application and consent to inspect signed by the applicant. If a Certificate of Occupancy is
denied, the Building Inspector shall state the reasons therefor in writing to the applicant.

setS of plans, accurate plot plan to scale. Fee according to schedule.
b. Plot plan showing location oflat and of buildings on premises, relationship to adjoining premises or public streets or
areas, and waterways.
c. The work covered by this appJication may not be commenced before issuance of Building Permit.
d. Upon approval of this application, the Building Inspector will issue a Building Permit to the applicant. Such a permit
shall be kept on the premises available for inspection throughout the work.
e. No building shall be occupied or used in whole or in part for any purpose what so ever until the Building Inspector
issues a Certificate of Occupancy.
f. Every building permit shall expire if the work authorized has not commenced within 12 months after the date of
issuance or has not been completed within 18 months from such date. If no zoning amendments or other regulations affecting the
property have been enacted in the interim, the Building Inspector may authorize, in writing, the extension of the pennit for an
addition six months. Thereafter, a new permit shall be required.

Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, and other applicable Laws, Ordinances or
Regulations, for the construction of buildings, additions, or alterations or for removal or demolition as herein described The

530 Orchard Street, Orient, NY is on the Town of Southold,
New York State and National Registers of Historic Places,
and
as setforth in Section 56-7 (b) of the Town Law (Landmarks
Preservation Code) of the Town of Southold, all proposals
for material change/alteration must be reviewed and granted
a Certificate of Appropriateness by the Southold Town
Landmarks Preservation Commission prior to the issuance
of a Building Permit, and
an application has been submitted to make alterations to an
existing outbuilding as shown on plans and related materials
dated January 18, 2008, and
Commissioners made a visit to the site to inspect the
proposed project, and
a public hearing for the purpose of considering approval of
the proposal was held on March 18, 2008, and
it appears that the project requires no further review, and
the Commission has made the following findings of fact
concerning the property and the proposal:

. The dwelling at 530 Orchard Street will be a contributing
element of the registered landmark property.
. The purpose of the proposal is to prevent the front porch
from leaking and to allow more headroom on the porch
and more light into the windows by raising the porch by
one foot.
. Mr. Fischer appeared before the Commission twice and
was receptive to the Commissioners' suggestions.
. The proposal is compatible with the existing building and
the immediate neighborhood and will not have a
substantial adverse effect on the aesthetic, historical or
architectural significance of the listed landmark.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Southold Town Landmarks
Preservation Commission determines that the proposal as
presented at the public hearing meets criteria for approval
under Section 56-7 (b) of the Town Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Commission unanimously approves the
request for a Certificate of Appropriateness.
Please note that any deviation from the approved plans referenced above
may require further review from e commission.
