Dear Mr. Komarek:,
Thank you for your letter of March 11, 1960. The
require~ents which concern the Soard of Appeals in grant-
ing of special exceptions or variances forthe'construction
of advertisim3 signs are as follows:
1. Applicant must present with his application
a letter of permission to erect a sign, signed
by the owner of the property on which the sign
is to be erected, accompanied by a sketch show-
ing the e:lcact location Of the proposed sign
with size and wording.
, ,
2. The location chosen by the applidult for erection
of a sign must meet the general standards set up
'in Article IV. Exact specifications and description
mus,t ,be, f:urnished. .
'3. The purpose Of such a sign must be directional in
,the public interest'or cOnvenience as distinguished
from signS advertising the sale of products or
merchandiSe or service.' Signs 'advertising types 'of
business which provide food, and shelter for the
'public,are deemed Ip, the public interest and
conveniep,ce.
