In 1955 I purchased ~ lots with a total of 306ft or more on Fiddler
Lane & Manhassett ave, Greenport, withthe intention .of building a house
on each lot. Present regulations call for larger lots than these altbo
is requested for the reason that this area is developed on small lots mostly
60ft by 100ft. I am asking for a variance to use
a lot 80ft by 100ft beginning 80ft from the northerly property line of
the ~ lots purchased in 1955, on the westerly side of Fiddler Lane.

1. STRICT APPLICATION OF THE ORDINANCE would produce UNDUE HARDSHIP because: This
This entire area was laid out in 60 by 100 ft lots, many of which are
being used with dwellings etc today. there is public water available
to my lot, therby eliminating the prob~em of a. private ,well and
the drainage is good so there will be no cesspool problem. Denial of
this application would be an undue hardship as I am enlarging the lot
in excess of others in this area and it is impossible.to'deepen the
lot .
2. The hardship created is UNIQUE and is not shored by 011 properties alike in the immediate
vicinity oftnis property and in this use' district because.: Thiso:ls a corner property, in an
area of small lots, the lot on the intersection is oddly shaped, by
making the two nottherly lots 80ft frontage on Fiddler La the resulting
corner lot will be greatly improved.
3. The Variance would abserve the spirit af the drdinonce and WOULD NOT CHANGE THE
CHARACTER OF THE DISTRICT because: This entire area is residential and built or
mostly 60 by 100ft lots. the proposed use is residential and will in
no way harm or change the charicter if the neighborhood.
