I ,eported that I had previously reported this to your office when I was making another inquiry. I explained that we have only replaced an existing glass door as a result of a rock being thrown by a lawn mower and replaced the existing deck on our home. Under protest I am paying this fee, as I feel that I obtained a building permit, thinking that I would make alterations to our home and wanting to follow town law. After obtaining the permit I realizing that we could not afford the alterations. I find it unjust that I am now being asked to pay the fee again and will also be charged for a new C.O. that will not differ from my existing C.O. Every building permit shall expire if the work authorized has not commenced within 12 months after the date of issuance or has not been completed within 18 months from such date. If no zoning amendments or other regulations affecting the property have been enacted in the interim, the Building Inspector may authorize, in writing, the extension of the permit for an addition six months. Thereafter, a new pemllt shall be required.
