The S0uthold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor N~rman
E. Klipp~ at Greenport, on Tuesday~ Sept. 7,' 19~8. The m~eti~g
was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Klipp$ Justices Terry-, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark;
Town Attormey Terry and Tow~ Clerk Booth.
-The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine qlaim% _
against the Town~ concluding the audit work at 2:30 P.M.
The minutes of the previous meetings were read ~ud duly approved as
read. ~
Moved by Justice ~lbertson; s~conded by Justice Tuthill: ~
Resolved: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be held
at the office of the Eupervisor on Tuesday, Sept. 21~ 1958, at
1:30 P.M. '

Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
WHEREAS, The Supervisor was heretofore~ by resolution duly adopted
by the Towns Board of the Town of Southold, directed to obtain
definite plans and specifications and a careful~estimate of the
expense of constructing and erecting a chain !ink galvanized
wire fence on the East and South sides of the existing Town Dump
at Cutchogue~ and
WHEREAS, said plans and specifications have been ma4e and filed with
the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold, and have been examined
b~ the T~wnBoard,
NOW, THEREFORE~ E IT. RESOLVED~ that said plans and spe¢i2ications
be and the same are hereby approved and adopted, and be it further
RESOLVED~ that this Board invite sealed proposals to be submitte~
to it at 2:00 ~'cleck P.M.~ Daylight Saving Time, on the 21st day
of September~ 1958~ .at the~offiee ef the Supervisor in the Village
of Greenport~ N.Y., for the construction and erection of a chain
link galvanized Wire fence on the East and South sides of the
existimg Tows'Dump at Cutchogue~ in accordance with the aforesaid~
plans and specifications, and that the Town Clerk be and he is
hereby diPected to prepare with the assistance of the Town Attor-
ney, proper notices, calling for special proposals in detail~ an~
cause same to be published in due forum of law.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals are sought and
requested for furnishing all materials and doing all work neces-
sary fo~ the performance according to specifications of a con-
tract to be let by the TO~N OF SOUTHOLD for constructing and erect,
lng a chain link galvanized wire fence on the East and South sides
of th~ existing Town Dump located at Cut~hogue, in the Town of
Southold, Suffolk County, New York.
The sealed proposals will be received by the Town Board at
the Office of the Supervisor in the Village of Greenport~ New
York, at 2:00 o*cloc~ P.M.~ (Daylight S~ving Time), on the 21st
day of September, 1548~ and will be consmdered publicly at such
time and place. Specifications for the execution of the work
be examined at the office of the Town Clerk, at Southold, New York~
between ~he'hours of 9:00 A.M. and ~:00 P.M., from September
lC, 19~8 to September'20~ 1958~ except that on Saturdays the
hours will be from 9:00 A.M~ to 12:O0 noon, and that the Town
Clerk's office will not be open on ~atu~dsy afternoons and
Sundays.
PROPOSALS SHALL BE M3~DE ANB RECEIVED~Pon the following -
conditions: Each proposal must be accompanied by the deposit of
a certified check payable to the order of the Supervisor of the Tow~
of Southold in the sum of $7~,~ or a bond with sufficient sur-r
eties to be approved by the Supervisor in a penal sum of $75.,
conditioned that if the proposal is accepted the successful
bidder will enter into a contract for the same~ and that he
willexecute within l~ day8 from the date of the acceptance of
the proposal a suitable security bond in the sum of the amottut
of the contract~ conditioned for the faithful and prompt perfor-
mance and completion of the work specified in the contract.
All deposits except that of the successful bidder will be
returned.
Upon the acceptance of his bid~ if the successful bidder
fails to enter into a contract pursuant to the requirements
of the Board', or fails to Eive the further security prescribed
in this notice within the time limited therein~ then the check
deposited ~s aforesaid and the moneys standing to the credit
of the same, shall be forfeited to the Town as liquidated
damages~ or the payment of the bond enforced for the benef.it of
the Town.

of work submitted by the Police Dept. from Sept. 13th to Oct.
10th.

The Bond for Constable Williem H. Granger was presented to Board
for approval.

Resolved: That the Town Board approve the Bond df Wi!liamH.
Granger for $500. written by the American Motorists Insurance
C6. as to its form~ manner of execution and sufficiency of
surety.
