The a~ua! Fishers Island Me~ting of the Southold Town Board was
held on Wednesday, Sept. l, ~958. The Board left Preston's Dock
at 9:15 A.M. aboard capt. Harry Horton's Boat~ accompanied by Sen-
ator S.W. Horton; Receiver of Taxes, Ralph P. Cox; Chief o~ Police,
Otto L. Anrig; George C. Terry; Assemblyma~.~ Edmund.Lupron, ?eorge
I. Tuthill; S~. of Schools: Har~y B. WarG and Meade ~ooson, ar-
riving at Fishers Island about ll.30 A.M. The meeting was held in
the auditorium of the Fishers Island School~ and was called to order
by Supervisor Klipp at 2.00 P.M. with the following member~ of the
Town Board present: Supervisor Klipp, Sustices Shanklin; uthill .
and Clark; Supt. of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk

Whereas~ the Commissioners of ~the Fishers Island Ferry District
have heretofore and on or ~bout Feb. 20~ 1958~ entered into a U.S.
Post Office Department subcontract for mail contract service No. S.PoT~-
S-VK. Feb. 2~, 19~8~ and ~ , ~ ~
Whereas~ ~said Fishers Island Ferry District is to receive'the sum
of $6,7%0,00 per~a~uum for transporting the mail on route No. 7090~

Whereas~ the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District have
entered into an amendment of a certain agreement with Mr. E.S.
Wilcox~ and
Whereas~ the purpose of said amendment was to conform said agreement
with the provision contained in a certain contract between said Dis-
trict and the United States of America and certain amendments thereto~
Now~ Therefore~ Be it Besolved: That in view of the exigencies of
the si~mation the acts of said commissioners i~ entering into said
amendatory agreement~ be and they hereby are approved.

The S0uthold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Narman
E. Klipp, at Greenport, on Tuesday, Sept. 7,' 19bB. The m~eti~g
was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry-, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark;
Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
-The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine c~aim% _
against the Town, concluding the audit work at 2:30 P.M.
The mihutes of the previous meetings were read and duly approved as
read. ~

Resolved: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be held
at the office of the Eupervisor on Tuesday, Sept. 21~ 1958, at
1:30 P.M. '

WHEREAS, The Supervisor was heretofore, by resolution duly adopted
by the Towm Board of the Town of Southold, directed to obtain
definite plans and specifications and a careful~estimate of the
expense of constructing and erecting a chain !ink galvanize~
wire fence on the East and South sides of the existing Town Dump
at Cutchogue~ and
WHEREAS, said plans and specifications have been ma~e and filed with
the Town Clerk of the Town of Seuthold, and have been examined
~ the Town Board,
N~W, THEREFORE~ E IT RESOLVED, that said plans and speci2ieations
b~ and the same are hereby approved and adopted, and be it fLtrther
RESOLVED, that this Board invite sealed proposals to be submitted
t~ ~t ~t ?:00 '~'~Ock P.M., Daylight Saving Time, on the 21st day
or ~ep~emoer~ 194~, .at the~office ~f the Supervisor in the Village
of Greenport,: N.Y.~ for the construction and erection of a Chain
link galvanized Wire fence on the East and South sides of the
existimg ToWa'Dump at Catchogue, in accordance with the aforesaid~
plans and specifications, and that the Town Clerk be and he is
hereby directed to prepare with the assistance of the Town Attor-
ney, proper notices, calling for special proposals in detail~ an~
cause same to be published in due form of law.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals are sought and
requested for furnishing all materials and doing all work neces-
sary for the performance according te specifications of a con-
tract to be let by the TO~N OF SOUTHOLD for constructing and erect,
ing a chain link galvanized wire fence on the East and South sides
of the existing Town Dump located at Cut~hogue~ in the Town of
Southold, Suffolk County~ New York.
The sealed proposals will be received by the Town Board at
the Office of the Supervisor in the Village of Greenport, New
~ork, at 2:00 o'cloc~ P.M., (Daylight Saving Time), on the 21st
ay of September, 1948, and will be considered publicly at such
time and place. Specifications for the execution of the .work.c~n-:
be examined at the office of the Town Clerk, at Southold, New York~
between ~he'hours of 9:00 A.M. and $:00 P.M., from September
lC, 1958 to September 20, 1958~ except that on Saturdays the
hours will be from 9:00 A.M. to 12:O0 noon, and that the Town
Clerk's office will not be open on ~tu~d;y afternoons and
Sundays.
PROPOSALS SHALL BE M3~DE ANB RECEIVED ~pon the following
conditions: Each proposal must be accompanied by the deposit of
a certified check payable to the order of the Supervisor of the Tow~
of Seuthold in the sum of $75,~ or a bond with sufficient sur~
eries to be approved by the Supervisor in a penal s~m of $75.,
conditioned that if the proposal is accepted the successful
bidder will enter into a contract for the same, and that he
will execute within 15 days from the date of the acceptance of
the proposal a suitable security bond in the sum of the amount
of the contract~ conditioned for the faithful and prompt perfor-
mance and completion of the work specified in the contract.
All deposits except that of the successful bidder will be
returned.
Upon the acceptance of his bid~ if the successful bidder
fails to enter into a contract pursuant to the requirements
of the Board~ or fails to give the further security prescribed
in this notice withi~ the time limited therein~ then the check
deposited as aforesaid and the moneys standing to the credit
of the same, shall be forfeited to the Town as liquidated
damages, or the payment of the bond enforced for the benef.it of
the Town.

Granger for $500. written by the American Motorists Insurance
CO. as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of
surety,
