The meeting was called 'Or'er at 1:30 P.Mowith the following present: SuPervisor KlipP; Justice~T~rry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Superintendent of High- ways Price~ To~mAttormey Terry; a~d Town Cl~rk Booth, The Board sat at o~ce:as a Committee on Audit toexamine claims against the Town, eoncludi~§ the audit work at 2:15 The minutes of the previous meetings were read anddmly approved as read° I, Ralph P. Booth~ Town Clerk of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, w York, do hereby appoint Eloise Bowden as Deputy T6wn.Clerk, pursuant the provisions ,f Section 30 of the Town Law, as amended. This appointment.expires on Dec. 31,. 19~9. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: Resolved: That the Town Board hereby approves the appointment of Eloise Bowden as Deputy Registrar ef Vital Statistics amd Radford C. Shanklin asSub-registrar of Vital Statistics for Fishers Island~ these appointments 'expire om Dec. 31, Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice .Clark: Resolved: That the Supervisor be authorized to contact the State Highway Dept. and request them to change the broken white line, to a double solid line~ extending from the Southold Library to the Southold SaVings Bamk om Route 2~ ia the Village of Southoldo U~animously adopted. MOved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: Resolved: That parking motor vehicles on the west side of Mechanic Street~ in the Village of Southo!d be prohibited from Route 2~, 300 feet s~uth o~ Mechanic Street, amd suitable signs beerected thereon. Unanimously adopted. The Supervisor appointed Justice Terry and Justice Tuthill a high- -way committee. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry: WHEREAS~ an action entitled "GEROGE W. DOUG~ASS and GEORGE W. DOUGLASS. JR., Plaintiffs, against T~WN OF SOUTHOLD and NAROLDPRICE, Individual[ and as ~uperintendent of H'ghways of the Town ef South~ld, Smffolk Y Oount~y, New York~ Defendants, has been~m~enced against the above named defendants by the service of a ~ons and complaint upon them on the ?th a~ 16th of Jmly, 1~8~ re~pe~ti~eiya.~.and~n WN~REAS. the encroachment mentioned in the said complaint was removed om the !~th day of July, 1~$~ amd the ~respas~ therein referred to no longer continues, and W~REAS, by reason of the premises, the plaintiffshave indicated a willingness to discontinue the action and this Board is Of the opinion that mo f~rther proceedings should be~taken~k~ein~ NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the Town Counsel be a~thorized and directed to enter into a stipulation of diseontin~anee, of the above- entitled action in accordance with this Resolution. Welfare Btll~ i~ the~amoumt of $298~21~ Lighting District Bills in t~e amount of $1,140.9§, and Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the amount of $1~,3!~.9~, be and the same are hereby ordered paid.
