The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: supervisor Kllpp; Justices Terry; 'uthill; Albertson and Clark; Town Superintendent of Highways, Price and TOw~ Clerk, Booth. The Board sat atonce as a committee on audit to examine claims, against the Town, concluding the audit at 2:10 The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved"as read. Moved by Justice 'Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: Resolved: That Welfare Officer Archie W. Symonds be and hereby is auth- orized to- purchase a check writer to be used in connection with the Welfare Office'. Unanimously.-adopted. A letter wa~ read from the Board of Fire Commissioners of Southold Fire District requesting permission to erect.a wooden arch over Jacobs Lane,'at Bay View, to be used by the Department's Racing Team for practice. Di.strict of the Town of Southold, County of Suffolk'and State of New York, a Park District duly organized in the Town of Southold under the laws of the State of New York, has p~rsuant to the previsions of Chapter 92~ of the Laws of New York for1941, a~d the other laws'of New York applicable hereto, voted to acquire a certain parcel of real property in Mattituck adjacent to Pike Stree2 and fully described in the Certificate of the Commissioners of Mattituck Park District for park purposes, at a special meeting of the resident tax- payers of said Park District held in and for said distric~ at the Mattituck.Fire House on the 18th day of December, 1957, at ~!o'cleck P.M.~ a majority of the voters present at said meeting voting in the af- firmative"~hat said Proposition #t being for thepurchase:of:said.land for the sum of Twenty-five Hundred ($25~0.) Dollars and 'ProPosition ~2 being for $1~000. to cover the expenses of said purchase,~su~veying costs and~m~roving.the property as a public park, NOW, THEREFORE, upon the application.of ~heC,mmissiomers o~.said Park District-and P~rSuant to authority vested-in the~To~Board of the Town of Southo~d'and more part~cular!yby~hapter '924. of the Laws RESOLVED, that said Southold Town Board issue Capital Notes in the sum of Thirty-five Hundred ($3500.) Dollars, te be for the acquisition of said park property as voted upon favorably by the legal voters of saidMattttuck Park District, which Capital Notes shall be payable not later than one (1) year from the date of issuance, and that the said Capital N~tes shall be a chargeupon the taxable property within the said MattituckPark-Dis'tric2. RESOLVED FURTHER~ that the Supervisor issue said Notes in the name of the Town of Southold and Mattituck Park'District a~d issue the same under the most favorable terms which ~e is able to negotiate :29 and to turn ever the proceeds thereof to the Commissioners of the Mattituck'Park District for the purpose herein mentioned. The foregoing resolution was offered and seconded at a regular meeting of the Southold Town Board held at the office of the Super- viSOr~at the Village of Greenport, N.Y~, on February 3, 19~8. Upon the question of adoption ~the follSWing voted ~"AYe" in favor of .the resolution: S~pervisor Norman E. Klipp, Justices of the Peace, Rali Tuthili, Henry Clark, Harry Terry and Lester M. Albertson. The having received at least a two-thirds vote of the memb~ Df th. Board, was declared by the Supervisor te be duly adopted. Moved by Justic~e~Terry; seconded by Justice Albertson: Resolved: That General Bills in the amount of $11,357.37 and reimbursable ~elfare Rills in the amount of $16o65 be and the-same is hereby ordered paid. Unanimously adopted. The Bond of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp was presented to the Town,card for approval. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Clark: Resolved: That Bond Ne 1St15 ~+1 of the Aetna Casmalty ~d Surety Co. for Supervisor Norman E. Klipp acting as Custodian of Finances of the Fishers Island Ferry District, be and hereby is approved as to form and sufficlemcy of surety. Unanimously adopted. Moved by. Ju~tice Terry; seconded by Justice Clark: Resolv.ed. That Chief of Police Otto L. Anrig, be and hereby is allowed $3.O0 per day expense for the use of his automobile for polite'duty retroactive to Jan. 1, 1968. Umanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Tmthill; seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That the Chief of Police be amd hereby is authorized to purchase ~w~ mattresses for use at the Police Department. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justic~ Terry; seconded By Justice Clark: Whereas, Sec. 6~ of the Towa Law requires the Town Beard to desigmate by resolution banks or'this State in which the Supervisor or any other officer of the town shall deposit all monies coming into their hands by virtureof their offices and~ Whereas, the Town Board may require any bank so designated to deposit with sUCh bOard the bonds or certificate of the United States, of the State of New York, or any County, Towm, City, Village or SchoOl DistriCt of the State of New York as security for such funds so de- posited~ but such bonds or certificates shall be subject to the approval of the Town Beard, and shall be deposited in such place and held under such conditions as the Town Beard may determine, and Whereas, the following banks have been heretofore designated as depositories: Now Therefore Be It Resolved: That the amount of securety and escrow agents herein set forth for each respective bank be.and here~y is ap- proved..by the Town Board. This agreement shall take effect when it is approved by the County Superintendent of Highways..
