HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-09/07/1949Meeting of September 7~ 19~9. · he Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor NormanE. Klipp at Greenport, on Wednesday~ September ~, 19~9. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klip~; Justices Terry; Tuthill~ Albertson and Clark; Town SUperintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. Th~ following persons~ Dr. Emerson~ Dr. Daley, Mr. Wolosik? Mr. Wells, Mr. Jenkins, Mr. Wenzel, Mm. ~ubbe~ Mr. MilIer~ Mr. F~W, Teves, Mr. Eagen, Mr. Knowles, Dr. Fischer and Harry Smith, property owners from Indian Neck and South Harbor, appeared before the Board stating that~ during the 1938 hurricane the channel extending from Ri~chmonds Creek to the bay was filled in so that it was impassable for power boats and requested the Town Board to have it dredged. SUpe~viso~ Klipp'informed them that there was no money in the budget for such a project. Dr. Emerson Suggested that he thought ~there was enough interest among the property o~ers to make a small contribution if the Town would assume the balance of the expense. ~ Supervisor Klipp stated he would take the matter up with the County Engineer and have it surveyed and secure figures on what the project would cost. The Board sat as a Committee on audit to examine claims against the Town concluding the audit work at 3:30 P.M. The minutes of the two previous meetings were read and duly approved as read. Moved by JustiCe Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson: Resolved: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be held at~tHe office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on Tuesday, Sept. 20~ 1959~ at 1:30 P.M. Unanimouslya dopted. Lawyer Krupski appeared before the Board petitioning the Board to tak~ over and work as a public highway a proposed road at Mattituck on the property of Julius Zebroski and Frank T~uthill: Moved by Supt. of Highways; seconded by Justice Clark: Resolved: That the Town Board view the proposed road at Mattituck on the property of Julius Zebroski and Frank Tuthill in consideration of taking it over as a public highway. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Clark: Resolved: Tha~ General Bills in the amount of $1,$92.18~ Lighting District Bills in the amount of $1,16~.27, Non-reimbursable Welfare Bills in the amount of $12.76~ To~ Trustee Bill in the amount of $5.00 and Fishers Island Ferry District Bills~ Account #2, in the amount of $9~8~5.99, ~ and the same are hereby ordered paid. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Supt. of Highways Prices seconded by Justice Tuthill: Resolved: That inasmuch as the required dedications have been received~ map of same duly filed and the aecessary papers signed~ the To%~ Board take over and maintain as a public highway Tuthill Roa~ at New Suffolk. Unanimously adopted. Moved bY Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Albert'son: Resolved: That~the Police Report for the month of August be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.
