Klipp at ~reen~ort~ on Tuesday~ AuguSt 9~ 1949, The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the fol- lowing present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terr~ TU~h~ll~ Albert- son'and Clark; Town Superintendent of Highways Price~ ~o~n Attorney Terr~ and Towh Clerk Booth. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as read. the A public hearing was held at the office of Supervisor at Greenport~ on Tuesday~ August 9~ 1949~ to consider a proposed amendment to Southold Town ordinance regulating the taking and manner of taking escallops from Totem Maters. The Town Clerk presented proof of publication of such hearing. SUpervisor Klipp opened the hearing at 2 o'clock P.M. and ~ead the call of the meeting. He then called upon any person present wishing to speak either for or against the proposed amendment. There being no response the hearing was duly closed at 2:1~ P.M. Moved by Justice Clark~ seconded by Justice Albertson: On roll Call the following amendment to Southold Town ordinance was animously adopted by the To~ Board.: AMENDMENT TO SOUTHOLD TOWN ORDINANCE ~GULATING THE TAKING AND MANNER OF TAKING EECALLOPS FROM TOk~ WATERS. Section 1: Section 2 of Sou{hold Town Ordinance regulating the taking and manner of taking escallops from To~n ~aters dated January 20~ 1944~ and effective February 8~ 194~ is hereby amended to read as follows: It shall be unlawful to take escallops from Town Waters of Southold Town from April first to September fifteenth in each year~ both dates inclusive. Section 2: Except as herein modified~ the aforesaid ordinance shall remain in full force and effect. This ordinance shall take effect on August 23~ 1949. The Board sat as a COmmittee on audit to examine claims against the Town cor~luding the audit work at 2:45 P.M. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill: Resolved: That General Bills in the amount of $3~465.92; non-reimbursable welfare bills in the amount of $213.98~- Lighting District Bills in the amount of $1~295.70 and Fishers Island Ferry D~strict Bills account No. 2 in the amount of $9:762.~6~ be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill~ ResolVed: That the Town Board make its officiml visit to Fishers Island on Tuesday August 23~ 1959. Unanimously adopted. The Bond of William H. Granger was presented to the Board for approval. MOved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: Resolved: That the Town Board does hereby approve the Bond of William H. Granger~in the amount of $500. written by th& American Motorists Insurance Company~ as to its form~ manner of execution and sufficiency of surety. Unanimously adopted. Moved'by Justice Clark$ seconded bY J~stice Tuthill~ Resolw~d: That the Town Police report fe~ the month of J~ly be accepted by'the Town Board and placed on file. Unanimously adopted~~ Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: ~ That the Supervisor,be and he~ebyis authorized to have a sign placed at the To%~ Beach to read as follows: The use O~ftthis beach by large g~roups: charter parties: and organizations alloW~only upon prior reservation.
