The meeting was ?a. lled to order at 1:30 P.M, with'the following present:~ Supervisor EIiDP; Justices Terry~ Tuthill~ Albertson and Clark$ To~m Attorney~Ter~yand ~bwn Clerk Booth. The BOl~rd sat at once as a committee on audit to ex~mine claims against the Town, concluding th~audit WOrk at 2:~o P.M. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly app~oved~ read ~' a~-~s . - . Moved by Justice Albertson$ seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That the regu~ar monthly meeting of this Board be held at the Office of the Supervisor at Greenport~ on Tuesday.~ July 19~ 19~9~ at 1:30 P.M. Unanimously adopted. Moved-by Justice Terry~ seconded by Justice Tuthill: Resolved: That General Bills-in the amountof $73k.51~ Lighting District Bills in the amount of $1~042.94; Non-reimbursable Welfare Bills in the amount of $72.63 and Fishers Island Ferry District Acct.#2 Bills in the amount of~059.65 be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Albertson~ seconded by Justice Clark: RSsolved: That Frank S. Dawson of New Suffolk~ be and hereby is appointed~ subject~to the ~itten approval of the District Superin- tendent of Schools~ Attendance Officer of all schools through~ the T6~ except~Such schools as are otherwise provided for by Seciti~n'~213 ~f the.Education Law~ and Be-It~FurtherResOlved: That such Attendance Officer shall be remov- able a~t the ~pleasure of the District Supt. of Schools~ and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the compensation for such Attendance OffiCe~ be~fixed at $800. per year~ payable in regular monthly instatlments~ he to ~ay his own expense. BE IT ~URTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and hereby is mnstructed to not~fy Frank ~ Dawson and the District Supt. of SC~oo~d'~bf~this appointment. Unauimously adopted. Moved by Justice Albertson~ seconded by Justice Terry: WHEREAS,-Section lk5 of the Highway Law permits the Town Bc~d of a Town to contract for and purchase in the name of the Town a gravel bed or Other-material for use on the public highways and bridges of the Town at a total cost not to exceed one thhusand dollars~ and WHEHEAS~'by'opinion of the State Comptroller the cost thereof is a general town charge and no referendum is necessary~ and kS[EREAS~-HaroldPrice, the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold~ has recommended to the Tow-aBoard the Purchase from Julius Zebroski of three acres of land for a gravel bed~ a2~a price of $300. per acre~ said land being situated on the southerly side of sound View Road~ near Southold~ and WHEREAS, after due deliberation~ such purchase is deemed to be in the best interests of the Town of Southold~ NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED~ that the Supervisor of the Town of Southold be and he hereby is authorized and directed to contract for and purchase from Julius Zebroski for the sum of $900. three acres of land south of Sound View Avenue for use as a gravel bed.
