The SoUthold Town BOard met at the office~of Supervisor NOrman E.
Klipp at'GreenDort on Tuesday~ June 21-~ 1949. The meeting was
called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor
Klipp; Justices Terry~ Tuthill~ Albertson and Clark; To~m Superinten-
dent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Tovm Clerk Booth.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as
read.
The Board sat as a committee on audit to examine a claim against the
Town.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
Resolved: That General Bills in the amount of $8~.50 be and the
same is~hereby ordered paid.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry:
ResolVed:~ That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Boardbe
held~at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport~ on Tuesday~July
5, 1949 at 1:30 P.M.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson:
Resolved: That the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to engage
the services'of a Life guard to be stationed at the Town Beach for
the summer season of 19~9.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice ~lbertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
Resolved: That the Town Board does hereby approve the schedule
submitted by the Town Police Dept. effective July 4~ 1959.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Alber~son:
Resolved: That the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to
dedu~t~one days pay from the salary of James P. Kelly~ Town
stable~ for violation of Sec. ~ of the rules adopted by the
Board gove~ing Southold Town Constables.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved'by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice,Terry:
R~olved: That the Town Clerk be and hereby is authorized to~
issue Fireworks permits pursuant toSection 1894A of the Penal Law.

WHEREAS~ Sec. 64 of the Town Law Requires the Town Board to designate
by resolution banks of this State in which the Eupervisor or any
other officer of the Town shall deposit all monies cominE into their
hands by virtue of their offices and~
~.H~,,R~A.S~ The Town Board may require any bank so designated to' deposit
~mth' ~uch iNo~d b~nds-6r~certificates~of the Unites ~tates~ of the State
of NeW~T~rk or any County~ Town~ City~ Village or school district of
the St~te'of~N~w Yor~ as security for such funds so deposited~ such
bOnds'~o~certificates being Subject to the approval of the Town B~ard
and deposited in-such place and held underi such conditions as the Town
Board may determine~ and~
WM~REAS~ The First National Bank of~Greenport~ N.Y.~ has heretofore
been designated as a depositary and~
~rHEREAS~ the said depositary has heretofore entered into an escrow
agreement with the Town of Southold providing that the First National
B~nk of New York'shall hold negotiable U.S. Treasury Bonds in the
am0~nt of $9o~oo0 (and belonging to said depositary) as such security~
and~
~ER~S~ the sums of money of the Town of Southold on deposit with said
depositary~ are~ at v~,rious times during the course of the year~ in
excess of the collateral security deposited as aforesaid~ and~

~rHEREAS, after due consideration of the matter, it is the opiniom
_Dhe Town BOard that additional security i~ the amo~ut of
40~000~00 should be required of said depositary so as to make the
total collateral security furnished by said depositary equal to
$130~000.00~
N0~ TH,,R=FORE, BE IT RESOLVED~ that the said First[ National 'Bank
