The meeting was duly opened at 8 P;Mo, in accordance with the legal notice published in the Town Newspapers~ The folloWing members of the Board being present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry~ Tuthil~l~ Albertson and Clark$ Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The purpose of this m~eting was to consider a proposed contract with the Village~of Greenport ~or the furnishing of fire protection hydrant rental and ~Water supply to the East-West Greenport Fire Protection District. Such bonds shall be in bearer coupon form with the privilege of conversion into bonds registered as to both principal and interest and shall be payable as to both principal and interest in lawful money of the ~nlted States of ~merica at THE FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF GREENPORTs ~ in GREENPORT~ New York: which by contract-is the paying agent ofs the I issuer. Section 4. All other matters except as provided herein relating to such bonds shall be determined by .... the ~upervmsor. OUCh bonds shall contain substantially the recital of validity clause provided for in Section ~2.00 of the Local Finance Law and shall otherwise be in such form and contain such recitals: in addition to those required by Section ~l. O0 of the Local Finance Laws as the SupervisOr shall determine. Section 51 It is hereby determined that subdivision 26, of paragraph afof Section ll.O0 of the Local Finance Law applies to such object or purpose and that the period of probable usefulness thereof is l0 years: computed from October l: 19~0:~ no bond anticipation notes ~ving been issued prior thereto. The powers and duties of advertising such bonds~for sale~ conducting the s~le and awarding the bonds~ are hereby delegated to the Supervisor who shall advertise such bonds for sale: conduct the sale amReaward the bonds in such marmer ~s he shall deem best for the interests of 2aid Town: provided~ however~ that ~u the exercise of these delegated powers he shall comply fully with the provisions of the Local Finance ~aw and any order or rule of theState Comptroller applicable to the sale of "~nicipal bonds. The receipt of the Supervisor shall be a full acquittance to the purchaser of such bonds who shall not be obliged to see to the application of the purchase money. ~ection 7. The faith and credi~ of the Town of Southold are hereby pledged for the payment of the principal of and interes~ on s~d bonds as the same become due and payable. In anticipation of the sale and issuance of said $100~000 bonds there are hereby authorized to be issued bond anticipation notes of s~id Town in. an amomut not exceeding the aggregate principal amount of $100,000~ and such p~r is hereby delegated to the Town Supervisor of s~id Town~ the Chief Fiscal Officer~ but no such notes shall be issued by said Supervisor ~muless he shall have firs~ filed with the Finance Board (the Town Board) of said Town, a certificate authorizing the issuance of such notes, which certificate shall contain the statements required by Section 30100 of the Local Finance Law~ provided~ however~ that such notes shall mazure not more than one year from the daSe of the note first issued hereunder. Such certificate shall be properly dated and signed by said Supervisor and shall be a public record. Section 2. That the proceeds of said notes shall be used solely for t~e same object or purpose for which the proceeds of sale of said $100~000 bonds may be expended, and said notes shall be paid from the proceeds of the sale of said bonds~ or otherwise redeemed in the manner provided by law. Klipp at Greenport~ on Thurso~ Oct ~ 19~0. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P~M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp~ JusticesTerry~ Tuthill~ Albertson~ and Clark~ To~ Superintendent of Highways Pr'ices Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at oHce as a committee on audit to examine claims against the Town~ concluding the audit work at 2:30 P.M. The Minute~ of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as re~d. Moved by Justice Tuthil!~ seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That the Town Board does hereby approve the letter aEreement between the Fishers Island Ferry District and E. S. Wilcox in the operation of the vessel Col. John E. Baxter in the sum of $ 11,012.87 ~ Drom Sept. 1st to Sept~ 30~ 1950~ both dates inclusive. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Clark; seconde4 by Justice Terry: ~EREAS~ Subdivision 8 of Sectioh 64 of the Town Law provides in pertinent part that the Town Board may take by gift, grant~ bequest or devise and hold real and persona~ property absolutely for any publi~ use: upon such terms or conditions as may be prescribed by the grantor or donor and accepted by the To~n~ and provide for the proper administration of the same~ add ~qEREAS~ negotiations are under way for the conveyance to the Town of Southold of a'large tract of real property at Fishers Island~ New York~ by the United States Government~ said premises being part of Fort H.G. Wright and consisting of t~and now used for an airfield (sometimes k=nown as Elizabeth Airfield): together with a movie theater and other miscellaneois buildings~ said conveyance to be made upon certain terms and conditions to be prescribed by the grantor~ and WHEREAS. it is the considered opinion of the members of the Town Board ~-~e'To%Nn of Southold that the acceptance of such a grant by the Town of $outhold is ih the best interests of tbs To~m and would serve to promote the best interests of the Tow~: NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED~ that the Supervisor of the Town of Southold be and he hereby'is authorized to continue nggotiations for the conveyance of s~id property at Fishers Island to the ~own of Southold and to accept such grant in the name of the To~m of Southoid~ upon such ~ ~ terms and conditions as the United States Government may require.
