The So~thold Town Board met at the Office of Supervisor
Norman E. Klipp at Greenport~ on T~esday, Aug. 8, 1950. Th~ meeting
was called to order at 1;30 P.M. with the following present.~
Supervisor KlipR~ Justices Terry~ Tuthill~ Albertson and Clark~
Town Superintendmnt of Highways Price~ Town Attorney Terry and
Tow~ Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine claims
against the Town concluding the audit work at 2:30 P.M.
The Minutes of the previous meetings were read and duly approved
as read.
At 2:00 P.M.~ in accordance with a notice published according to
law~ bids were opened for proposals to f~nish the Town of Southold a
new steam heater for the Town Highway Building~ at Peconic.
Moved by Justice Albertson~ seconded by Justice Tuthill.
Resolved: That the Greenport Oil Heating Company be awarded the contract
for the furnishing of a new steam heater to be installed at the Town
Highway Building at Peconic.

A communication was received from Eloise Bowden requesting a leave of
absence from Aug. 15 to Sept. 14~ 1950.
Moved by Justice Albertson~ seconded by Justice Terry:
Resolved: That Eloise Bowden be granted a leave of absence~ without
~ompens~tion~ from her duties as Junior Stenographer from Aug. 15 to
~ept. 14, 19~0, both dates'inclusive.
Unanimously adopted.
An application wes received from Henry Santacroce for appointment as
constable for the Town of Southold.
Moved by Justice Clark~ seconded by Justice Albertson:
Resolved: That the application of Henry Santacroce for appointment as
constable for the Town of Southold be laid on the table for f~rther
consideration.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by JustiCe Clark~ seconded by Justice Terry:
Resolved: That the Board make its official visit to Fishers Island on
Tuesday~ Aug. 22~ 1950 and that the Supervisor be authorized to arrange
for transportation.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Terry, seconded by Justice Tuthill:
Resolved: That the Po'lice Report for the month of July be accepted by
the Town Board and placed on file.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Terry~ seconded by Justice Tuthill:
Resolved: That the Town Board does hereby approve the letter agreement
between the Fishers Island Ferry District and E. S. Wilcox in the operation
of the vessel Col. John E. Ba~ter in the sum of $ 15~36.00~ from
July l, to ~ly 31~ 1950~ ~oth dates inclusive.

Resolved: That General Bills in the sum of $ 2574.93~ Lighting District
Bills in the sum of $ 1219.73~ Non-reimbursable Welfare Bills in the sum
of $ ~mSl~ Fishers Island Ferry District Bills Account #l in the sum
of $ ~5~.~1~ Fishers Island Ferry District Bills Account #2 in the sum of
$ 16~21.7~ be and the same are hereby ordered paid.

Resolved: That the Town Clerk be and hereby is directed to request the
Long Island Lighting Company to imstall five (5) additional-a~rial
street lights in the Parking'~Fietd of the Mattituck Park District~
in Mattituck Lighting District No. I.'
