Klipp at Greenport~ on Tuesday~ July ll~ 1950. The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Norman E. Klipp; Justices Terry~ Tuthill~ Albertson and Clark~ Tow~ Superintendent of Highways Price~ Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee oh audit to examine claims against the Town~ concluding the audit work at 2:30 P.M. The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as read.-- Moved by.~stice ¢~ar$~ seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved. That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board be held at the office of the Supervisor~ on Tuesday~ August 8~ 19~0~ at 1:30 P.M. Unanimously adopted. Moved bY Justice Albertson~ seconded by ~ustice Clark: Resolved: That Dorothy M. Wells be and hereby is appointed temporary Junior Clerk as of July l~ 1950~and Be it Further ResolVed: That the compensation for such position be fixed at $1~00. per year~ and Be it Further Resolved: That the compensation for this position be paid in regular monthly installments~ and Be It Further Resolved: That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certificate with the proper parties as are required by &~etion 30 Sub-division 3 of the ~o~n Law. Unanimously adopted. Moved hy Justice Albertson~ seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That Frank S. Dawson of Ne~ Suffolk be and hereby is appointed~ subject to the written approval of the District Superintendent of Schools~ ~ttendance Officer of all schools throughout the To~ except such schools as are otherwise provided for by Section ~21] of the Education Law~ and Be It Further Resolved: That such attendance officer shall be removable at the ~leasure of the District Superintendent of Schools~ and Be It Further Resolved: That the compensation of such attendance officer be fi~ed at $800. per year payable in regularlmonthly installments~ he to pay his own expense~ and Be It F~rther Resolved: That the Town Clerk be and hereby is instructed to notify FranW S. Dawson and the District Superintendent of Schools o~ ~h~ss~pp&~tme$~,~a~d Be It Further Resolved: That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certificate with the proper parties as are required by Section~O~ Sub-division ~ of the Town Law2 Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Clark~ seconded by Justice Albertson: Resolved: That Clayton Harrell~ Jr. be and hereby is appointed to a position of temporary Life Gnard to serve in such capacity at the Southold Town Bathing Beach~ and Be It Further Resolved: That the compensation for such position be fixed at $25. per week payable in regular weekly installments~ and Be It Further Resolved: That this appointment take effect as of July 9~ 1950, and be t~rminated at the pleasure of the Southold Town Board~ and Be It Further Resolved: That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certificate with the proper parties as are required by Section ~O~ Sub-division 3 of the Town Law. Moved by Justice Albertson~ seconded by Justice Clark: Resolved: That Joseph Sawiski be and hereby is appointed provisional Police Patrolman (Constable) of the Town of Southold Police Department~ effective as of July l~ 19~O, and Be It Further Resolved: That Joseph Sawiski be compensated for such position at the rate of $6.50 per day payable in regular semi-monthly payments~ a~d Be It Further Resolved: That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such 274 certificate with the proper parties as are required by Section 305 Sub-division 3 of the Town Law~ Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Albertson~ seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That the Southold ToWn Board does hereby request the State Traffic Commission~ pursuant to article 7 of the Vehicle and Traffic ~aw~ to restrict or prohibit the parking of vehicles on the East side of Mechanic Street from route 25 to its intersection with the easterly leg of Mechanic Street. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Tuthill~ seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That General Bills in the sum of $~891.~3~ Lighting District Bills in the sum of $117~.21~ Non-reimbursable Welfare Bills in the sum of $96.O0~ Fishers~Island Ferry District B~lls Account ~2 in the sum of $15~61.7~ be a~d the same are hereby ordered paid. Unanimously adopted. Moved by. Justice Albertso~ seconded ~y Justice Clark: Resolved. That Bond No. ~066 issued by the Glens Falls Indemnity Compahy in the sum of $~000. on behalf of Theodore B. Howard be and the smme is hereby approved as 'to form~ sums manner of execution and sufficency of surety therein. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Albertson~ seconded by Justice Clark: Resolved: That the Police Rep~t for the month of June be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Albertson~ seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That the Town Board does hereby approve the letter agreement between the Fishers Island Ferry District and E. G. Wilcox in the operation of the vessel Co~ John E. Baxter in the sum of $13~665.~ from June l~ to June ~O~ 19~0, both dates inclusive. Unanimously adopted. Notice havin~ been-published that sealed proposals will be received at the office of the Supervisor~ at 2:00 o~clock P.M. on ~ugust 8~ 1950~ for the furnishing and installation of a new steam heater at the Southold Town Highway Building at Peconicl Adjournment was at ~:30 P.M.
