Meeting of June 6, 1950
The Sou~hold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman
Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, June 6, 1950. The meeting was called
to order at 1:30 P.M. with the fo~towingsp~.resent: Supervisor Etipp;
Justices Terry, Tuthili and Clarki ToWn uperintendentof Highways
Price;:Town Attorney Terry and ToE Clerk Booth.
The Board sat_at once as a c~tee on a~di~ to examine claimz
against the Town concluding the audit work at 2;20
~The minutes of the previous meeting were read and du$~yapproved as
.Trustees af the Peconic School District appearedbefore the Board
requesting protection at ~he Peconic school crossing. The Supervisor
assured them. they would provide a special constable to direct traffic
at the Peconic School crossing by ~nuary l, 19~, as She cumr'e~t budget
does not provide funds ~or such a purpose at this t~me,

Eesolved: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be held at ~he
office e£ ~he Supervisor at Greenport on ~uesday, June 20, 1950, at
1:50 P.M.

A communication was read from the Cutchogue ~Lre Department requesting
permission to install a pressure hydrant in place of the existing
hydrant located on Alvahs Lane

Resolved: That insofar' as the Town of Sou~hold has authority to do,
permission, be granted ~he Gutchog~e Fire Department to install a ~ssure
hydran~ in place of the existi~ hydrant located enAlvahs' Lane,GUt
chcgue, opposite ~he t~o~erty of stanley Simchick, providing
Town of SeUtheld be indemnified and saved harmless from any and a3.~ claims
arising out of or by reason of the same and that the To~ be furnished with
an insurance policy of i~demnification.

Moved by Justice Glark; seconded by Justice Terry:
Resolved: That Barney P. Harris and ~enry B. Faucon, Constables of.the
Town of Southold be given an increase in salary from seven dollars
seven dollars and fifty cents per diem and that ~alter Bondarchuk,
watchman~at the Police Department, be given an increase in salary
from six dollars a~d fifty cents to s~ven dollars per diem, all three
increases effective June i7, 1950.

Resolved: That Chief of Police, Otto L. Anrig be authorized to
tend the New York State G~nief of Police Convention to be held at
Rochester, N~Y. em July 24, 25 and 26, 1950.

Resolved.- That the Town Board does hereby approve the letter-of
agreement between the ~ishers Island Ferry District and E.S, ~ileox
in the operation of the vessel Col. John E. Baxter in the sum of
$9,006;88, from May i to ~y 31, 1950~ both dates inclusive.

duly received, map of same duly filed and the necessary papers
