The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman
E. Klipp at Greenport on Tuesday, April 25, 1950. The meeting was
called to order at l:~O P.M. with the following present: S~upervisor
Klippl ~u~tices Shanklin; Terry; Tuthill; Albertson and Clark;
Town Superintendent of Highways Price; ~ownAttorney Terry and Town
Clerk Booth.
A. John Gada and Joseph Middlebrook~Jr., Commissioners of the Fishers
Island Ferry District were present at the meeting to petition the
Town Board to approve a modification of the existing contract be-
tween E.S. Wilcox and the Fishers Island Ferry District. The
Board assured them they would ~prove of such a modified contract
if the State Department of Audit andControl would approve of s~uch
a contract.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and dul~ approved as
read.
Moved by J~tice Albertson; seconded by Ju~ice Clark:
Resolved: That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board be
held at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport on Tuesday~ May
9, 1950~ at 1:30
Unanimously adopted.
A letter was read from the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce requesting
the Board to place no parking signs on Pike Street.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Terry:
Resolved: That the Town Superintendent of Highways be and hereby
is authorizedt~ace signs on the south side of Pike Street from
Westphalia Road ~,e to the free parking lot to read "One Hour
Parking from 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M." and on the North side of Pike
Street from Wickham Avenue to the Fisher property signs to read,
"No Parking between 8:00 A.M. and ?~00 P.M."
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry:
Resolved that the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to purchase
eight chairs for use in the Supervisor's office.

BE IT RESOLVED~ this 25th day of April~ 1950~ by the Town Board
of the Town of Southold, New York~ as follows:
Section lo ~That~ WMEREAS~ an insufficient appropriation was made
for home relief in the current annual budget of the Town of Southold~
pursuant to the provisions of the Social Welfare Law of the S~ate of
New York, a supplemental appropriation of $5,000.00 for home relief
is hereby made~ and pursuant to the local .Finance Law of the State
of New York, for the purpose of financing such supplemental ap-
propriation~ the TOWN OF SOUTHOLD shall issue and sell a budget
note in the amount of $5~000.O0 to mature on April 2?th, 1951.
Section 2. That, except as herein specifically prescribed, said note
shall be of the date~ terms, form, contents and place ~f payment and
at a rate of interest not exceeding TWO(2%)per centum per annum, as
may be 'determined by the Town Supervisor, consistent, however, with
the provisions of the said Eocal Finance Law of the State of New
York~ and shall be executed in the name of. the said Town by its
Supervisor and the Seal of said Town shall be attached thereto.
Section ]. That said note shall be sold at private sale by the
To~wn Supervisor at a price of not less than par value and accrued
interest~ if an~ and upon due execution and saleof said note
the same shall be delivered to thepurchaser upon payment by him
tom the Town S;apervisor of the purchase price in cash; and the
receipt of such Supervisor shall be a full acquitance to such
purchaser who 'shall not be obliged to see to the application of
the pur=has~ monSy,
Section'S. The full faith and credit of the Town of Southold~ New
York~ are~pledged to the punctual payment of principal and interest
on said .note.
Section ~. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
THE QUESTION OF THE ADOPTION OF THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS
DULY PUT TO A VOTE WHICH RESULTED AS FOLLOWS:

BUDGET NOTE OF 19~0.
The TOWN ~F SOUTHOLD~ in the COunty of Suffolk~ a municipality
of the State of N~w York~ hereby acknowledges itself indebted and
for value received promises to pay to the FIRST NATIONAL BANK~ Green-
port~ ~ew York~ the sum of FIVE THOUSAND ($5~000.00) DOLLARS~ on the
27th day of April 1951~ together with interest thereon from the
date hereof at the rate of One and Nine-Tenths per centum (1.9%) per
annum~ payable annually. Both principal and interest of this note
will be in
· paid lawful money of the United States of America~ at
the office of the Supervisor of~the Town of Southold~ Greenport~ Suffolk
County~ New York.
This Note may not be converted to registered form.
This Note is the only note of an authorized issue in the a~onnt of
~5~000.O0 for the purpose of financing a supplemental appropriation for
home relief~ the cost of which is in excess of the appropriation made
in the current budget.
This Note is~issued pursuant to the provisions of a resolution
entitled "Budget Note Resolution"~ duly adoqted by the Town Board
of such Town of Southold, on April 2~, 19~0, and the privilege is
herein reserved by the Town of Southold to re-pay the whole or any~part
of the unpaid balance of the principal sum hereof at any time without
pehalt¥.
The faith and credit of such TOWN OF SOUTHOLD are hereby irrevocably
pledged for the punctual payment of the principal of and interest
on this Note according to its terms.
It is hereby recited and certified {hat all conditions~ acts and
things required by the Consit~tion and Statutes of the State
of New York to exist~ to have happened and to have been performed
precedent to and in the issuance of this Note~ exist, have hap-
pened and have been performed~ and that this note~ together
with all other indebtedness of such TOWN OF SOUTHO~D is within
every debt and other limit prescribed by the Constitution and
Laws of such State.
IN WITNESS WEEREOF~ the TOWN OF SOUTHO~ New York~ has caused this Note
to be signed by its Supervisor and its corporate seal to be hereunto af-
fixed and attested by its Town Clerk and this Note to be dated the 27
