Meeting of January 2~, 1950
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E.
Klipp at Greenpor,t~ on Tuesday~ January 2~ 1950. The-meeting
was called to order at l:~O P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Ktipp~ Justices Terry~ Tuthill; Albertson and
Cl~rk; Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry
and TownC1 lerk Booth. ~
Theminutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approVed
as~read.i
The Board audited the Fishers Island Ferry District Bills,
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
Resolved: That Fishers Island Ferry District Bills Account #2
in the amount of $5~21~.76~ be and the same are hereby ordered paid.

Moved by JuStice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
Resolved: That the regular mon~hlymdit meeting Of this Board be
held~at the office of the Supervisor on Friday~ Feb. lO~ 1950~
at l:~O P.M.
Unanimously adopted.
Lawyer Kingsley Smith appeared before the Board representing
Charles Simon~ requesting that the stumps and debris be removed
from the side of Wells Road~ Peconic~ abutting his property~ so
that he could have access to the road with his truck & trac~or.
The Board stated they would consider the matter after viewing
said road.
Mr. Bennett~ District Manager of the Royal Indenmity Company ap-
peared before~the Board to explain in det&il the method~of Town
Insurance. He suggested that all Town Insurance be assigned to
one ~ffice with premiums apportioned among agents throughout
the Town. The matter was laid on the table.
Moved by Justice Alhertson$ seconded by Justice Clark:
W~ereas~ Section 86 of the Social Welfare Law permite the Super-
Visor t~ pay over to the Town Welfare Officer money to b~ used as
a revolving fund from which the Welfare Officer shall pay all
welfare claims for which the Town is legally responsible~ except-
ing salaries and other ~~icm~ and
Whereas~ In the opinion of the Welfare 0~f~cer the sum of Three
Thousand Dollars now set aside for such revolving fund smems
insufficient~ and
WhereaS~ In the opinion of the Welfare Officer such revolving
fund Shall be increased to the sum of Four Thousand Dollars~
now Therefore Be It Resolved: That the revolving fund of the
Town ~e~fare Officer be and hereby is increased from the sum of
Three Thousand to the sum of Four' Thousand Dollars.

Resolved: That the saale of wages for the employees of the
Town Highway Department which ~as presented to the Town Board by
Supt. of Highways Price~a~d the same is hereby approved.

MOved by Justice Terry$ seconded by Justice Clark:
Resolved: Tha~ the Town Board does hereby approve the letter of
agreement between the Fishers Island Ferry District and E.S, Wilcox
in the!operation of the vessel~John,E~ Baxter in the sum of $%~281.50~
from Dec. i to Dec. ~l~ 19~ both dates inclusive.
Unanimously adopted.
The hearing on the matter of purchasing machinery for the Town
Highway Dept. ~hich was advertised in accordance with Sec. 1~2
of the Highway Law was duly opened at 2 o'clock P.M. no person~
appeared to speak either for or against the ~ems mentioned in
the legal notice~ the hearing was closed at 2:~O P.M.

Whereas~ the Town Superintendent of Highways did on the 2% day of
January~ 1950 duly recommend the purchase of certain machinery
