The Southo!d Town Board met at the oTfice of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp
at Greenport~ on Tues.~ Dec. 11~ 19~o ~he meeting was called to order
at 1:~30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices
Terry~ Tuthill~ A!bertson and Clark~ Town Superintendent of Highways
Price; Town Attorney Terry and To~m Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine claims against
the T~n concluding the audit work at 2:'1~ P.M.
The minutes of the previous meet&ng were read and were~-,duiy approved
as read.

R~OLVED.~ That the annual audit meeting of this Board be held at the
office of the Supervisor~at Greenport~ on Monday~ December 31 1951
at ~1.30 P.M. ~ ~

RESOLVED: That all Town Officials that desire to attend the a~uuai meet-
ing of the Association oD Towns of the State of New York~ to be held
at Buffalo~ New York~on February 6~7 and 8th~ be and hereby are author-
ized to attend~ and be it further
RESOLVED: That the necessary expenses incurred while attending this
annual meeting be and hereby are a legal charge against the Town.

year~ payable in regular monthly installments°

be and the same are hereby ordered paid.

RESOLVED: That the Southo!d Town Board approves of the action of the
Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District in entering into
License Contract No. DA-19-O16-ENG-!3?4 with the Department of the
Army for a period of one year: beginning October 1~ 19~!: and ending
September 30: !9~2: for the non-exclusive use of the fo!towing described
premises for berthing and wharf~g~ purposes:-
A certain parcel of land: together with the Government owned dock:
warehouse building and all other appurtenances thereto located at the
foot of John Street~ New London~ Connecticut: as shown outlined in
red on Exhibit A Plan entitled Government Dock: New London: attached
and made part of the License Contract: and: the License in consider-
ation for this !icense~ shall pay to the United States Compensation
in the amount~of One Dollar($1.O0) for the said term~ payable in advance.

RESOLVED:' That the Town Clerk be and hereby is directed to request the
Long Island Lighting Company to install two additional aerial street
lights in the Southold Lighting District: one (!) lOOccpp ~ights on
a four foot arm to be placed on pole No. 782 at the intersection of
Town Harbor Lane and the Main R~ad~ One (1) 2~0 c p Light on a fo~tr
foot arm to be placed on pole No. 389 on the Main Road in front of
Albertsons Store.
Unanimously adopted.
The hearing ~on the matter of purchasing machinery for the Town Hi~j~-
way Department: which was advertised in acco_dance with Section 1'2 of
the Highway Law: was duly opened at 3 o'clock P.M. No person appeared
before the Board to speak either for or against the item mentibned in
the legal notice.The hearing was duly closed at 3~30 P.M.

~EREAS the Town Superintendent of Highways did on the llth day of
December~ !9~I~-duly recommend the purchase of certain ~Machinery)
Pursuan~ to the provisions of Section 142 of the Hig~hway Law: and
a notice of ~such recommendation has been duly published as provided
in such section.
Now Therefore Be It Resolved that pursuant to Section 142 of the
Highway Law the Town~perintendent of Highways i~s hereby authorized to
purchase from Hodge &~Hammond: Inc~ with the approval of the County
Superintendent of Highways:
One Huber Maintainer with front end lift-loader
for a total price of Four Thousand. Two Hundred Fift~ & O0/TO0 Dollars
($~2~O,OO): delivered at Peconic: L.I.~ N.Y.~and to be delivered on
or about Dec. !~th: 19~1.
A contract of purchase for the i~em purchased shall be duly executed
between the Town Superintendent of Highways and such vender: and when
duly approved by the County Superintenden~ of Highway~ it shall become
effective. When such contract has been duly executed and approved: the
Supervisor is authorized to complete such purchase upon delivery of the
item purchased in accordance with the terms of such resolution and such
contractS and to pay the above amount specified to be paid byacheck~dra%~a
on the Machinery Fund (Item 3) for $4~250,00,
