The~meeting was called to order at,l.30 P. M. with the following present: ~uperviso2 Klipp; Justices ~erry, Tuthill~ Albertson and Clark$ Superintendent of Highways Price; iown ~ttorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. - ~ '<.~-'~[~The~-minutes of the previous meeting were read and we~e duly approved Moved by ~ustice Clark~ seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED: That the regular monthly audit meeting of th~s Board be held at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on~Tues.~ Dec. 11~ 19~I~ at 1:'30 P.M. Unanimously adopted. Moved by JuStice Terry; seconded by Justice Clark: Whereas'~ Chapter ~26 of the Laws of 1948~requires the Town Board to designste by resolution newspapers of the-Town in which the Town Tax notice shall be p~bli~hed ~ Therefore Be It ResOlved: That the Town Board does hereby d~ignate the Long Island. Tra~vel~r-Mattituck Watchman and the Suffolk~imes~to pub!i~h the ~Town Tax ~notice for the years 19~1-19~2. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be empowered to place an order with the Burroughs Adding Machine Company for a Burroughs Typewriter Tax Accounting ~achine to be used in the tax office, said machine to be paid for from the budget of 19~3. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED: That Bond No. 2~33234 issued by the Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York~ in the su~ of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($~0~0OO.00) on behalf of Receiver of Taxes Edwin F. Salminen~ be and the same is h hereby approved as to its form, s~ manner of execution and sufficiency of surety therein. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson: RE~OLVED: That the Town Board approve the request of the Town Trustees dated November !9~ 19~1~ that an exception be granted to the Town Ordinance affecting the taking of escallops not having a clearly defined annual growth !i~e from Mill Creek~ Laughing Waters and Broad Waters to prevent the loss and destruction of such escallops in these areas. The exception is in accordance with Section !~6~ Subdivision 1~ of the New York State Conservation Law~ and will provide that special permits will be issued by the New York State Conservation Department to residents of the Town of Southotd who have secured a diggers per- mit, allowing such residents to take by hand power in an amount not exceeding fi~e (~) bushels per person per day of escallops not having a clearly defined growth li~efrom the areas of Mill Creek~ Laughing Waters and Broad Waters from December i~ 1951, to ~anuary 31, 19~2, both dates inclusive. Unanimously adopted. The Board canvassed the bsllot cast for the Library approp~ia2~an!in the General Election of Tuesday~ ~ovember 6, 19%1. The vot~ was as follows: Yes 762; No 213. The proposition to appr6priate $12~OO.O0 annually for the fiscal years t9~2-1953~ for the support of public l~braries in the Town of Southold was duly declared passe~. Adjournment was at 4:~ P. M.
