The Southold Town, Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman
E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tues.~ Oct. 9~ 1951. The meeting was
called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor
Klipp~ JustiCes Terry~ TuthiI1 and Alb~rt~on; ~Town Superintendent
of ~ghways Srice; Town Attorney Terry a~d Tow~ Clerk B~oth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on gudit to examine claims
against the Town concluding the audit work at 2 P.M.
~e minutes of the previous meeting were read and were duly 'approv-
ed as read.
Moved by Justice .Albertson; se¢o~nded by ~ustice Tuthill:
Wh~reas~ ~t i~ apparent that an insufficment amount of money was
appropriated for the proper care and maintenanc~ Of the town
dump in the budget of 19~O-~l~ and
Whereas~ Section 107 of the Town Law provides for the transfer
of surplus money to meet such conditions~
Now~ Therefore~ Be It Resolved: That Supervisor --orman E. Klipp
be amd he hereby is authorized to transfer the sOm of Three
Thousand D~llars ($3~O00) from the Surplus Account to the General
Fund of the To~wn~ to provide for the proper care and maintenance
of said dump.

in such capacilty at the Town Clerk's, Office at Southold~ now~
Therefore, be it
Resolved.: ThatI ~arion A. Winters be and hereby is appointed to
the position Off ~unior Clerk, to serve in such capacity at the
Town Clerk's 0'ffice at Southold~ for a probationary period of
three months~ and be it further
Resolved': That Marion A. Winters be compensated for such services
in an amount of Sixteen Hundred Dollars ($1600.) per year~ payabl~
in regular monthly payments~ and be it further
Resolved: That the effective date of such appointment shall be
October l, 19~l.

Resolved:'That the regular monthly mSeting of this Board be held
at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport~ on Tues., Oct. 30~
1951~ at 1:30 P.M.

Resolved: That General Bills in the sum of $4722.35,Lig~ting
District Bills in the sum of $1273.7~ Fishers ~sland Ferry
District Bills Account No. I in the sum of $215.80~ Fishers Island
Ferry District Bills~Account No. 2 in the sum of $7068.62~ be and
the same is hereby ordered paid.

Resolved: That the Police Report for the month of September be
accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.
Unanimously adopted.
A communication was read from the Trustees of the Southold
Presbyterian Church requesting a street light be placed in front
of the church.

the Presbyterian Church~ in the S~outhold Lighting District.

~esolved: That the annual Highway ~stimate and Budget of the Town
Superintendent of Highways for the fiscal year begirming Januaryl~
19'~2~ be and the same is hereby approved by the Town Board.
Unanimously adopted.
Sealed proposals will be received by the Towm Board at the
Supervisors Office on October 30~ 1951~ at 2 o'clock P.M. for the
paintin§ of the outside of the Town building located on the northerly
side of the Main Road~ in Southold.

Resolved: 'That this Town Board does hereby ~n~pare and approve as
the preliminary budget of this Town for the fiscal year beginning
on the 1st day of January~ 19~2~ the itimized statement of estimated
revenues and expenditures hereto attached and made a part of this
resolution~ and be it
FURTHER R~SOLVED:That such preliminary budget shall be filed in the
office of the ~own Clerk where it shall be available for inspection
by any interested person at all reasonable hours~ and be it
'FURTHER RESOLVED: That this Board shall meet at 2 o'clock P.M. on
~the '8th day of November~ l~_~for the purpose of holding a public
hearing upon such preliminary budge~, and be it
F-~RTHW~R RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk give notice of such public
hearing in the manner provided in Section ll3 of the Town Law~ and
that such notice be published in substantially the following form:
NOTICE OF HEARING UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET
Notice is hereby given that the preliminary budget of the' Town
of Southold for the fiscal year beginning January lst~ 19~, has
been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk at
Southold~ New York ~ where it is available for inspection by any
interested p~rson at all reasonable hours.
· Further notice is hereby given that the Town Board of the Town
of Southol~ will meet and review said preliminary budget and hold
a public hearing t~ereon~ at The Office of the Supervisor~ Greenport
New York at ~ O'clock P.M. on the 8th day of November~ 1951~ and ~
that at s~[ch hearing any person may be heard in favor of or against '
the preliminary budget as compiled or for or against an~item or items
therein contained.
Pursuant to Section ll3 of the Town Law~ the proposed salaries
of the following town officers are specified as follows:
